Doris Day, 97

She was a little bit before my time. But her passing definitely serves as another reminder of better days fading into the past.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Not before mine and Burts too. We're losing all the old timers. I heard the damnest interview last nite with Deb Paget. A true beauty who was only 15 when she played Stewarts wife and he was 40. I was surprised she was so forth coming about her belief in GOD .

Peggy Lipton just passed away as well.  Her daughter is Rashida Jones, by Quincy Jones.

Doris day was one of my absolutely favorite people. In all her life which was no picnic you never heard anything bad about her.  RIP.

The older generations are about all passed on, Doris before my time but a known name and face in my family...like IDP said...

Remember Peggy from Mod Squad, but I never got into any of the hippie dippie stuff...and by the time Twin Peaks came about it was like, oh that's her.

He was one of two I started laughing at before he said anything. The other was Richard Pryor.
