Hurricane Barry

Since most of you are getting your news from the weather channel, I figured I would share some of the catastrophic damage photos sent to the local TV station.

It's obvious Global Climate Change is responsible for all of this carnage.

Obviously.

What're we looking at in that first photo?

Looks like the damage I saw in Taipei when a tropical storm rolled through.

https://www.google.com/maps/@25.1804576,121.4531491,3a,75y,215.04h,90.5t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1su_JHohWuI4ouhzISOx-Ogg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Those trees in that little grass strip in the middle of the sidewalk all blew down.  People came by a couple of days later and propped them all back up, none the worse for wear.  There was zero hype of the storm.  Heck it was predicted to come ashore in the middle of the island.  I was watching it track north, all day, going schiff, it's going to hit us!  My first tropical storm (winds down to 60mph when it hit my area).  In the end, a couple of hours of wind noise and some entertainment watching women come out of that restaurant across the street, opening their umbrellas, just to have them shredded by the wind.

A "shed" made from PVC pipe and tarps.

Really sturdy. ::laughonfloor::

A friend is part of a small club that regularly ascends small mountains. They had set a date to ascend one last month.

Then their leader changed the date.

Then the leader's girlfriend changed the date . . . again;

And then another member changed the date . . . yet again.

I told my buddy that he's an obvious victim of "Climb It Change"

I have three of those "rubber rooms" on my property for storage. If a person stakes them down or ties them to timbers (like I did) they'll withstand a lot. One of them was hit by a tree several years ago during a winter storm and all I had to do was replace a couple of the pipe sections (they're made of thin-wall steel) that I got from Craigslist - for free!
