  • Hippies smell bad. Go away, hippie.
Either that or it's a psychotic episode...

Everything you've heard about fossil fuels may be wrong.

Quote
Are we living at the beginning of the Age of Fossil Fuels, not its final decades? The very thought goes against everything that politicians and the educated public have been taught to believe in the past generation. According to the conventional wisdom, the U.S. and other industrial nations must undertake a rapid and expensive transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy for three reasons: The imminent depletion of fossil fuels, national security and the danger of global warming.

What if the conventional wisdom about the energy future of America and the world has been completely wrong?

Okay, there's the teaser. Now go read it and be prepared to be amazed that anything of this nature could ever appear at Salon.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

Expect calls for boycotts and firings, along with accusations of a conservative bent on the part of the author. Bama no like.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

- Thomas Jefferson

You called it IDP. Comments showed a typically overwrought emotionalism that is leftism in its native environment. I think that they contemplated burning the author at the stake but were afraid of the CO2 emissions...

Oh yeah, the leftbots are all in a tizzy that Salon let this (as the leftbots say) BP shill post an article antithetical to their twisted world view that if ever fully implemented would slaughter 90% of the population and force the rest into caves and trees and subsisting like any other animal.

The tide may be turning when ditzy blonde Hollywood types stand in front of smokestacks belching black smock, claiming it's something called "carbon," saying that this "carbon" needs to be taxed, then climbing back into her private jet, to fly back to one of her mansions, just to....

get pretty much universally mocked.

The messengers of enviro-doom do make it rather easy to hoist them on their own sullied petard, don't they?
