Neat, new discoveries from the past always interest me.

Fascinating how much is left behind to learn from.

The site of Lachish, where the temple is located, was first found by William Foxwell Albright in 1929. He is considered the founding father of Biblical archaeology.

Garfinkel's team started excavating the site nearly seven years ago in 2013 - then spent longer examining the findings.

I guess I'm an impatient bastard. What took so long to start the excavating?

Well hey...that could be anything and everything...

Wars, legal disputes, affairs...divorces...murders...unscrupulous characters, unreliable laborers, competing digs, a new more exciting shiny target...and the ubiquitous government bureaucracy and mountains of permits, fees and payoffs...
