I don't know how lily-white the New Jersey casino business might be these days, but I'm thinking that a few decades ago, such a feat might require a new identity...

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I wonder how Lansky, Luciano & Schultz would have reacted to loses of similar scale as they discussed matters over Havana cigars at the Ambassador Hotel?!

If you want an even chance to win at a casino "21" is the only way to go . The two winners apparently did it legitimately ( they weren't "card counters" ) or the house wouldn't have paid off . At least that's the way it appears until some other big shoe drops .
