Start Praying.

My daughter just drove herself to the local hospital and all I know is that she's there. I talked to the floor urse and all she could tell me is that they're doing blood work and the MD will see her next. She has abdominal pains radiating to her side and that her left hand went numbb as she walked in.

 That's all I know for now.So please start the prayers up.

Kidney stones!! They were going to give her pain meds and send her home so she could see her regular MD but the didn't do sh*t for her so they gave her Morphine and she stays in for tonight She's off the get scanned so they can see exactly where and how big they are I'm waiting for her to get back and call me if she's still awake.

Hoo boy.  From what I understand, morphine is the only thing that steps on that pain.  If the stones are too big, they'll laser-smash them into gravel.

 I got to tell you that Kid should have been a boy. She is one tough SOB,her husband wanted to take her and she refused to take the baby out of the house and told him to stay home with the baby and she would go and deal with it. She called on her way in to ask me to talk to her till she got to the hoispital to make sure nothing happened and she would tell me what road she was on and where she was at any given time.

 She didn't want to do this with her husband cause he has his hands full with the baby and the damned Mastiff with his operation only being a couple of days old.

That's a good outcome. I'm sure she won't be thinking so until this is passed, but considering all things for which a person could make an emergency trip to the hospital... this is a good outcome.

I have an uncle who has dealt with stones for years (lives in an area with well water, high mineral content) and he said only the high power pain meds even begin to work on that pain. I've read that kidney stones are ranked right up there with labor pains.

Glad it was nothing more serious JF.

kidney stones....I've had 3 and I can't describe the pain. Your daughter must be tough because I don't see how she could drive herself. My first one, the wife was driving and i'm in the back yelling FASTER!! FASTER!!!! No way I could drive.....

I paced the floors all night and she went home and didn't want to tell me because she didn't want to hear it. All she wanted was to get home to baby and hubby and she went to work this morning.I could strangle her but that's the way she is and I don't know where she gets it from.

 She's on meds but at work. ::gaah::

Her husband refers to her mothers looks and my bad attitude.She's stubborn insistant combative loving protective and an all round pain in the ass. But she's mine and I love her.
