Well, thanks for breaking the spell.

I think people are just worn out, holding their breaths and waiting for the other shoe to drop this week.  I know I am.

My tradition is various versions of surf n' turf New Years Eve washed down with some Rufino Proseco and then crack the hatch on the garage and enjoy a drink (recent years more likely single/small batch bourbon) and some cigars...my brother sent a text extolling his bounty and I pish-poshed that 2020 wasn't worth a lavish send off and 2021 likely not to be any better so for me it was meatloaf and potatoes, The Equalizer flicks and bed.  The 1st I had lobster and drinks sans merriment...I'll save celebration when there is something to celebrate.
We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.
