The expected utility crisis is ramping up...

...I think I commented in another thread, or cracked a backhanded joke...at the expense of greenie EV users getting unplugged...

...all too easy...

There's some all time heat predicted for the west coast, coming up in the next few days.  As in 110's in the California valley, up into central Oregon and Washington.  The mother of all high pressure ridges is predicted to form.

They just raised the forecast for Seattle from 105 to 107. Normally I would say something about "hunkering down" but I've been hunkered down so long I've grown roots.

For what?  100+ is normal here in July.  110 would be on the high side, but by 4-5 degrees.

The weather here is best characterized as "mild" It never gets too cold and it never gets too hot. That's why so many flock here. 80F around here is considered hot, and 85F has everyone bitchin about end of days.

I believe the highest recorded temp around here was 104F - it hit 106F at my house on that day. The forecast for Monday has been revised to 112F. So we're not talking about 4-5 degrees above "average" but 8 degrees above the highest temperature ever recorded. So like pResident Spitefense says, It's a big f**king deal. Temps in the 90's are relatively rare and 100F and above unheard of.

As for me, I have nowhere to be and nothing that needs doing so I'll take the critters and lay low. I'm glad that I finally broke down and bought an air conditioner!

Maybe these Blue States are trying to force an exodus? Thinking if they can get enough people out of their states they can infect other locations and turn them blue, knowing that  people who support them are too stupid to understand that it is their votes that made their old homes unlivable?

I recall in recent past the resvoirs were full. I also recall some fed official telling a cheering crowd that there would never been another dam built on federal land. VDH has written about the lack of water infrastructure built in CA in recent decades.
