There's the rub! There currently is no such thing! Until there is a breakthrough on nuclear fusion where quantum tunneling can occur and sustained energy production is possible any discussion of any other technology is pointless because all will produce carbon emissions and other toxic byproducts.
And currently fusion remains elusive...high temps, magnetic fields (tokamak's [stability issues] & stellarator's [stable but difficult]) and powerful lasers and exotic non-terrestrial materials like tritium, etc is making a "breakthrough" difficult. In fact it will not be one breakthrough but dozens required before true fusion is achieved. So far a net gain of 1.5 megajoules of energy is the best we can do, a far cry from the ultimate goal. Some, like the SPARC think they can rollout a net-gain machine by 2025, but this will be a fractional of fusion potential, real fusion is likely decades out. But funding here is desirable whereas crippling economies with bogus carbon credit schemes and making people poorer, hungrier and exposed to the elements as organic energy is destroyed and green energy falters and collapses isn't worth one cent or one second of time!
