Comedian Louie Anderson, 68

Minnesota boy here. He was the funniest of the self-deprecating fate-joke comedians, in my opinion…

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Oh, man...doggone cancer.  I agree, of the hefty guys he and John Candy were the best.

Didn't he also own a comedy club in the Twin Cities?

The deaths are piling up, now.

Sounds familiar...or a co-owner or something like that...

Yeah, they are piling up.  Saw it start about 2-3 decades ago with friends, co-workers and such with my parents and I thought then "one day this will be happening for my generation"...and here we are...  :'(

Or is there another large Minnesota based comedian I'm confusing Louis with?  Because Louie didn't live in Minnesota, did he?

Well, St. Paul kid...old man was a piece of work...no idea how long till he scooted...he would come back a lot it seemed...no idea if he had a permanent place anywhere in the state but would not be surprised...

A poster at Indy had this very name and it clicked!

He also passed away just last year.  This is the guy I was thinking of.

Ahh, know the name but that's about it...never got into the comedy club scene...more of a pub crawler...when I was still crawling...
