I see "it's not fair" from a somewhat different perspective.
It's not fair, true enough. But that's life. Embedded in the basic truth of this particular unfairness is yet another sham of the professional Left.
The Leftist media would have the public unquestioningly accept that Jolie is a "hero" because she had elective surgery to have her breasts removed, and apparently is doing or has done the same thing with her uterus or ovaries or some such womanly parts. She's assumed to be above reproach because she's "brave".
But Jolie is being lauded as a hero for doing something that the average person cannot: elective preventative surgery. They willingly overlook this basic unfairness in order to erect yet another false Leftist narrative. Other women not in her financial position would have to wait to get cancer before undergoing the same surgery.
The media wants a wimmin to be a hero for choosing to rid herself of potentially troublesome female parts, but she can only do it because she has the money. They erect a hero narrative, without acknowledging that the heroism is wholly purchased, and has very little to do with bravery, overcoming adversity, or anything true grit is made of. Her counterpart's story of heroism will be battling cancer. What is her "heroism" in the face of that? Nothingburger.
More power to Jolie for bringing her wealth to the marketplace and purchasing a service she deems necessary for her health. But let's not pretend she's a hero. She's merely a woman with options unavailable to others because of her wealth. That's not heroism, and the narrative is a joke.
