His plan includes slashing spending by at least 13% of GDP before mid-2025 by dramatically downsizing public works, reducing the number of ministries, removing subsidies and capital restrictions that would allow businesses to transact in US dollars. More drastically, he also plans to shutter the central bank which he said has "no reason to exist", and dollarize the $640 billion economy.

“Central banks are divided in four categories: the bad ones, like the Federal Reserve, the very bad ones, like the ones in Latin America, the horribly bad ones, and the Central Bank of Argentina,” he said.

“A fiscal deficit is immoral,”

In the wide-ranging Bloomberg interview, Milei also criticized China and Latin America leftist leaders he considers “socialists,” said he would seek to leave the Mercosur trade bloc and would quickly move to deregulate commodity markets.

About those ministries. I read a book about Peru. Maybe by Desoto. The govt ministries choke off economic development. It could take year of waiting in line just to get the licenses for a food stand. Worse for buying land.

I thought that the land rushes they had to build new slums were left wing. They kinda are but seemed as American as the  Oklahoma land rush.  Often money is transferred to the land owner who stands aside. The land is plotted in advance. I recall well groomed children in school uniforms exit the metal roofed shacks in the  AM to go to school, walking alone. If anyone touched them they would be cut into little pieces. Not what I expected.

Also lots of "informal" business like mini buses for transport.  Govt unions pitted against the poor.

Wasn't there mining towns too, like we had back in the mid-1800's?  Some still exist I thought...

Vox Day had a long post about this, mostly content from elsewhere.

Also, not sure if this is included in the posts above.

Yeah, well...par for a crap course...

People who went to college with him, taught him know he's economically sound, which to socialists means right-wing radical whatever fill in the foaming-mouth BS that comes out of the mouths of those demonically-possessed jackasses...

Is he entertaining?  Is he passionate about reversing course?  Is he shy about using verbal sledgehammers to socialists or idiots?  Yes, yes and no.

Like always, if leftards are having diaper-tossing meltdowns...somebody is doing something sensible.

Somebody may be reaching a bit on throwing cold water on Milei...

https://nationalfile.com/argentinas-outsider-president-elect-tied-to-wef/

...that he was one of 6 speakers at a conference in 2014 and has a brief bio on WEF site is hardly an indictment of his character, to me it looks like a one and done...and Frankie seems to want desperately to link him to the nefarious agendas of Klaus Schwab et al...

As always we are actions speak louder than words people, so this should be an easy one to solve as we see Milei govern.
