Joining Freedom Flotilla II is the first-ever U.S. Boat to Gaza, “The Audacity of Hope.”

The individuals on this boat will be simply delivering
LETTERS OF LOVE to the people of Gaza.

Thirteen of America’s greatest thinkers talk about why “The Audacity of Hope” is one of the most crucial campaigns of our time.

US BOAT TO GAZA: The Audacity To Love

The cast in not a collection of near-do-wells these folks work their destructive forces from the top of the food chain using big brain stems.

Angela Davis:
[blockquote]
Quote
(per Wiki) Davis was most politically active during the late 1960s through the 1970s and was associated with the Communist Party USA, the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Panther Party. Prisoner rights have been among her continuing interests; she is the founder of "Critical Resistance", an organization working to abolish the prison-industrial complex. She is presently a retired professor with the History of Consciousness Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz and is the former director of the university's Feminist Studies department.
...
Her membership in the Communist Party led to Ronald Reagan's request in 1969 to have her barred from teaching at any university in the State of California. She was tried and acquitted of suspected involvement in the Soledad brothers' August 1970 abduction and murder of Judge Harold Haley in Marin County, California.

Noam Chomsky: (need I say more) http://discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=1232 [blockquote]
Quote

                                       * Professor of linguistics, prolific pamphleteer,
                                           highly influential leftist
                                        * Known for his extreme views (e.g., that
America is worse than Nazi Germany)
                                        * “The so-called War on Terror is pure
                                             hypocrisy, virtually without exception”

Chomsky is without question the most politically influential living academic among other academics and their students. He is promoted by rock groups such as Rage Against the Machine and Pearl Jam at their concerts the way the Beatles once promoted the Guru Maharaji,

Paul Postal and Robert Levine, linguists who have known and worked with Chomsky, take the view that the two aspects of his life’s work in fact manifest the same key properties: "a deep disregard of, and contempt for, the truth; a monumental disdain for standards of inquiry; a relentless strain of self-promotion; notable descents into incoherence; and a penchant for verbally abusing those who disagree with him."

Ali Abunimah is a Palestinian American who serves as a Board of Directors member for the Arab American Action Network and the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center. He is also a co-founder of the Electronic Intifada website, which was created by activists affiliated with the International Solidarity Movement. His personal website, abunimah.org, acts as a clearinghouse for his writings, which are fiercely hostile toward Israel and the United States.
...
[He] … has also recalled Mr. and Mrs. Obama at a fundraiser held for the then-Congressional candidate Obama in 2000 at Rashid and Mona Khalidi’s home, where Mr. Obama made convincing statements in support of the Palestinian cause.” “[Obama] came with his wife,” Abunimah said. “That’s where I had a chance to really talk to him. It was an intimate setting. He convinced me he was very aware of the issues [and] critical of U.S. bias toward Israel and lack of sensitivity to Arabs.... He was very supportive of U.S. pressure on Israel.”

Canadian Gaza activists foiled by Greek Coast Guard

Coast guard personnel boarded what’s been dubbed the ‘Canadian Boat’ to Gaza on Monday soon after it left port and forced it back to Agios Nikolaos on the island of Crete.
...
The crew of more than 40 people is made up mostly of Canadians, but also includes people from Belgium, France, Italy and Turkey.

“In bringing us to port they damaged the boat,” Heap said. “They gave it a rather hard push with a tugboat into the pier with no buoy beside it.”
...
Greece’s decision to block the flotilla comes amid warming relations with Israel and a just-concluded joint air force drill.
[/blockquote]
[blockquote]
Quote
The coast guard stopped the boat shortly after it set sail without permission from the port of Agios Nikolaos in northeastern Crete, and towed it back into port,

The Canadian vessel Tahrir was stopped about 10 minutes after it left port on the island of Crete Monday afternoon, organizers said.

"We have been boarded by about 15 armed special forces," David Heap of the Canadian Boat to Gaza organization told AFP by phone from the vessel.
...
It had sailed without a captain in the hope of avoiding severe legal repercussions. When authorities boarded the boat and demanded to speak to the captain, all 35 passengers "claimed they were the captain," Arraf said.

Passenger Joseph Dube, a former Belgium senator with an expired captain's licence, was one of the 35 passengers who had agreed to assume legal responsability for defying the ban and setting sail.

These defiant seekers will break any law in order to achieve their goal.

Despite the recent Gaza-bound flotilla's failure to set sail en masse from several Mediterranean ports, one of the boats left Greek territorial waters on Saturday evening, and headed to the coastal strip, with its crew saying they represent the whole flotilla.

Hoorah for Israeli commando's!

 ::thumbsup::

"They have said they had no aid on board and that their mission was meant to make a 'political statement' against the Israeli blockade."

How do you like the Israeli statement botches?!
