I tell ya, love her or hate her Taylor Swift is the real dealio. Bank on her being around for a long, long time. She's just hitting her stride.

The thing that sets her apart (besides platinum album after platinum album and hit single after hit single fresh out of the gate, without a failure) is that she writes her own music, and she's got the sugar-pop/country formula DOWN PAT. She's built a conduit into the hearts of teenage girls everywhere.

That automatically means cheez-whiz & bubble-gum to a lot of people, I know, but I'm just speaking from an industry standpoint. Accumulating performance royalties from mega-platinum sales and hit singles will make someone a rich star. Accumulating those along with writing and publishing royalties and holding the copyright on those same songs will make someone industry royalty. If she's not there already, this girl is heading towards 9 figures.

And she's cute to boot.

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

And if she's got two cents worth of talent, she'll grow and adapt.

Singer-songwriter and actress Taylor Swift has a net worth of $70,000,000.

I guess I was off by one digit worth about $30 million. But then again...

Additionally, Swift has appeared in many popular publications including Seventeen, Teen Vogue, Rolling Stones and she is the current image of L.E.I. Jeans. In 2010 alone, Forbes estimates that Swift earned $45 million.

She's a hit-machine. And so far, she's done it with a relatively squeaky-clean image, fully clothed. She was 16 when she debuted her first single. She just turned 22. Not a bad run.

Hope she knows she's blessed.

It will be interesting to see how she adapts...but she seems to have a level head on her shoulders, so I don't think I'd be betting against her.  And as IDP pointed out there is a lot to be said about being your own songwriter, besides the business and income angle, it lends itself IMO to a better product, a branded authenticity.
