Splitsville!
« on: July 01, 2011, 09:26:01 PM »
Vote to secede and form the state of South California is leading the poll 88.38% to 11.62%.

"The creation of the new state would allow officials to focus on securing borders, balancing budgets, improving schools and creating a vibrant economy, he said."

"The new state would have no term limits, only a part-time legislature and limits on property taxes."

How interesting.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

- Thomas Jefferson

I admit to voting in that poll, even though I've never been within 1500 miles of California.  Still, breaking up that Democratic electoral vote Leviathan would be good for the country as a whole.
We are so far past and beyond the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that the Colonists and Founders experienced and which necessitated the Revolutionary War that they aren’t even visible in the rear-view mirror.

Charles - it is the south and eastern contiguous block of inland counties. I can only see this as a prelude to handing it off to mexico. I'm inclined to change my mind about all this....but only if they take Los Angeles too  ;D

I see the location but being a foreigner I'm missing the commonality.
What is it about these counties?  As you said LA county, I thought is was a La Raza bastion.  And the eastern counties, aren't they desert, mountain, and resort?

One of the best reasons for a split that I've read.

Hey. I thought this thread was about Arnold and Maria.

You tricked me.
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living
are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.
