I have a permanent flagpole in my front yard which my dad had installed. For years I bought 3' x 5' nylon flags with grommets and sewn stars and stripes at Lowe's or Home Depot. They're a little more expensive, but much nicer than the ones that are just printed. But a few years ago I needed a new flag, and found that those places no longer carried the kind I wanted.
I did a little searching online, and found
Flag Store USA. I've bought from them twice and am very satisfied. Nylon flags will last 2-3 years, depending on how much they're flown and weather conditions. (I raise mine in the morning and lower it at night, rather than flying it 24 hours a day.) Eventually they'll start to fray at the edges and need to be retired. The colors are guaranteed for two years, and they hold up pretty well, although you'll notice the difference if you look at an old and a new flag side-by-side.
They have all kinds and sizes of flags, including state flags and Gadsden flags. Their flags are made by Annin, which is an old company that still manufactures them in the U.S. Six of their flags were taken to the Moon.
