*Interesting the GovTrack only lists Kerry as "far left"!  And Portman is listed as "centrist" (Ugh!)
But the links are more useful for mug shots & House district maps, so…

Still don't think this element of the "debt deal" passes constitutional muster, but for good or ill here it is!

(I'm betting on ill!)

!

Pandora:
Not taking that bet.

They just keep coming up with flying-by-the-seat-of-their-pants rules, don't they?  So severed from the Constitution, one would never know we had one despite them SWEARING to abide by and protect it.

Libertas:
And we started this session by reading that document, didn't we?  Either these fools are suffering from ADD & CRS or they don't give a damn, and neither one should fill us with confidence!

I took it as a portent of things to come that they didn't read all of it.  Can't say "we read the Constitution" when parts are chosen for omission, as far as I'm concerned.  They picked and chose with the reading in the same way they pick and choose when legislating.

If I was King, (stay with me here, I know the Constitution doesn't allow for a King), I'd have every one of them sign a copy of the Constitution at the beginning of each session, swearing to uphold and abide, and prosecute any one of them that designed, wrote or suggested unConstitutional legislation.  And damn the damned courts' opinions.

I hear ya, they take oaths but they take those lightly too.  I'm all for anything that allows for immediate voter retribution for those who stray from original precepts.  Perhaps why I still wish the lost art of duelling would make a revival.

I'm so out of my time...
