So I wonder how many accountants he has managing his personal finances? Does Warren Buffet claim only the standard deduction you think?
This supposed selflessness on the part of people like him is nothing of the kind. What it is, is the imposition of a legal and regulatory framework that will make upward mobility more difficult for the middle class, who have always been loathed by this would-be aristocracy. The aristocracy tolerates the lower class, because they "know their place". It's that middle, mobile class of merchants, artisans, and yeomen who the Ruling Class have always worked to sabotage.
A billionaire like Buffet could pay 90% taxes and still be very wealthy, it's no real material loss to him. But the imposition of that sort of framework would be a millstone around the neck of those trying to move up higher on the economic ladder. And that's exactly the point. They want a sort of neo-feudalism with the enlightened coastal liberals as the Ruling Class, and their client dependency class as the manipulable serfdom.
