I heard Rush talking about this a little while ago. It's comforting to think that a man of the fine character of Clarence Thomas could currently be playing a larger role in the future of our country than it appears on the surface.

As an aside, one of my astute Twitter followers reminds us that the author Jeffrey Toobin is a Journo-Lister. If it's by a liberal and about a conservative, look for the agenda.

Heard this on Rush today too, and he is absolutely right.

And boy does this open the left and their demonization of Thomas out into the open...their fear of him can be amped up by our side IMO if we belittle them about their abject hatred of this black man...I want to see the Left squirm!

Yeah, Toobin is a Franklin Roosevelt New Deal type tool.

I can imagine my lib friends and their exploding heads. Take a minute to ponder this: Since the Left finds it difficult to debate progressivism on the merits ofter resulting to name calling, this is a seminal moment when one of them takes the time to write about the intellectual greatness of a conservative Black man.

I listened to the Right Scoop clip of Rush, but couldn't follow it.  What, exactly, does he say Toobin is trying to do?  If this is a heads-up to the left that Obamacare is in danger, what does he expect them to do about Justice Thomas?  And why aren't Roberts and Alito just as much a threat as Thomas?

  They just like to pick an enemy and Thomas is an old ax to grind. If Thomas is against it he basis it on the law and if his basis is sound Alito and Thomas have to come to the same conclusion as they see the law the same way.Eliminate Obamas pet justice because she will have to recuse herself and they're down one vote coming out of the box and Kendy's vote won't matter as we know that you never know which side he'll vote with so now they need an enemy to blast as the main reason. Remember they tried to get him to recuse because of his wife's job in DC so the could neutralize the loss of their ace in the hole.

The left was fully invested in the "Thomas is an idiot" meme, and 'a sexual harassing pervert' until five minutes ago when they figured he is the main threat to them on the Court due to his Originalist leanings and his intellectual ability to lead the arguments.  Now, according to the left, he's one smart cookie that needs to be made to recuse himself because Obamacare is on its way for a ruling and they can't risk him swaying the court against it.

But...but...but...the man has never turned a hair in all the years they'e been ragging on him.  Do they think he'll suddenly vote to UPHOLD the monstrosity just because he's been "targeted?"  Clarence Thomas?!  How likely is that?

No.  They're hoping they can force him to recuse himself, thus taking himself out of the decision making.

It's gawdamned pitiful, I tell ya, that we've gotten to the point where nine people determine these issues for 360 million people.  Sad!  Outrageous!  Pitiful!

I see.  This seems a forlorn hope on their part.  As I recall, the grounds for a recusal were something to do with something his wife did.  I remember thinking it didn't seem to have much connection with the case.  But even if it were a close call, who is going to judge him?  Who tells a Supreme Court Justice what decision to make?

I just don't see the Thomas situation rising to a sufficient level to warrant recusal.  There simply doesn't appear to be a materially valid legal reason nor any disproportionate financial advantage one way or the other, so I think once again libiots are stirring the pot hoping for something that won't happen while at the same time getting their sadistic rocks off attacking their longtime foe!  They've never forgiven him for leaving the plantation and taking over the seat of their libiot champion on the court (Marshall)!
