I'm kind of wondering about the 2012 primaries. The Dems aren't having their own, so there's really no disincentive to them meddling in the Republican primaries in those states that allow it. Does anyone know the breakdown of states that have closed vs. open primaries? And there's variation even beyond that -- some states allow you to pick one or the other, and I believe some allow you to vote in both, etc.

Whatever the original motivations might have been for open primaries, I think the negatives far outweigh any possible benefits. It just seems straightforward to me, if you want to influence the direction of a political party then you should, you know, be a member of that party!

Some batsh*t crazy states like Oregon have internet primary voting.

 

Many oopen primary states only ask that you declare upon entering the polls which party primary you intend to vote in, no check of affiliation, a few may allow participation in both but I don't know for sure.

But we can still meddle in theirs where possible, either to embarass Duh Wun or to muck with other candidates running for congress etc.

The closest thing I can find to a one-stop-shop for primary info is this...don't know who green papers is...but clicking into each state you can see if the primary is open or not and the scheduled date and how many delegates are at stake and if it is winner-take-all or prorata distribution...

In Minnesota we have an open caucus, which I will attend...if for no other reason than to torment PaulBots from hijacking it...

It seems to me that we are not only fighting Democrats, who have morphed into Ultra Liberals. Also, Liberal Republicans, two come to mind, Gerald Ford, and Richard Nixon, and we all know how they turned out.

Right now the Republican Party is controlled by an Elitist sect, almost invisible, unless you count Karl Rove, the Bush's, Romney, and many RINO"S. The Tea Party, or concerned Citizens only wanting a better World for their Families, are fighting back.

I for one, side with the latter. It is no longer prudent to put our well being in the hands of the Elitists. We see what they have done to the Democrats, and it sure isn't a Conservative Ideal, so I guess you can say I am a Tea Party Person, until something better comes a long!

There is definitely something special about that girl. I knew that before they announced her for VP. I had heard about her on the News way before the decision. When they told about her, and the VP possibilities, I knew then and there she was the one. It made since, she has something no other Candidate has and could ever hope to have. She is something SPECIAL, and no one or anything, can take that away.

If you looked at from the standpoint of the first Woman President, she is hands down "THE PICK!" Not Hillary not Michele Bachmann although I really like her. Only Sarah, she embodies what all Women want to be, and Men could never achieve. She completes!
