Aww: Monica Lewinsky Is Lonely
« on: September 07, 2011, 10:37:21 PM »
Quote
She was the White House intern who found fame for all the wrong reasons.

Now, 17 years later, Monica Lewinsky is still trying to play down her scandalous affair with then-President Bill Clinton.

She is single, her line of handbags failed to catch on and, according to the National Enquirer, is living the life of a near recluse.

I'm trying very hard to work up some sympathy.

Uhh, nope...couldn't do it.

In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

I do have some sympathy for her (just a smidgen). She made her own choices, to be sure. But she was taken advantage of and discarded by the President of the United States in service of his own adolescent, selfish desires. He abused his power, and her in the process.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Aw c'mon, her name is synonymous with a sex act fer cryin out loud! If Marylin Chambers and Jeremy whats~his~name can make a career of it, then why not Monica?

Oh, she wants to be taken seriously?

Nevermind.

One may say she made her choices, however, she was intrusted to the supervision of the President of the United States.
If she was a person open to the wrong path an honorable man of character and leader of the free world may have influenced her to the right path instead of corrupting her.  She is a living example of what he did to this nation.

That may be but if I remember the historical context correctly she was hardly the innocent victim. Sure he took advantage of her but she pursued him vigorously. It was totally premeditated and I would wager that he wasn't the first person that she "practiced on."

No, I'm sure you're right. But a man of character would not have allowed himself to indulge, and would have removed the temptation by firing her. Let her ruin herself in the use of someone else - not the President.

(I can't believe we have a Monica Lewinsky thread!)

I can't believe you can use the words, "man of character" in even a vague reference to Clinton. "Tomcat in heat" sure. But not "man of character." Even "caricature of a man" is better suited. Or, "cartoon of a man."

She was only 21 and youthfully stupid and bedazzled.

Think about how you would think of her if she was your daughter.

I would be more than a little embarrassed and ashamed if she were my daughter. This is borne out by the way that she has behaved in the years since she became infamous. She has not turned her life around. She continues to sponge off of her parents. There are thousands of people who have overcome much more serious obstacles and gone on to success. She is a slacker who is being enabled by her parents. They created her. They perpetuate her.

J-School retards not being any brighter in Britain than here apparently...

Monica's sexual relationship with Mr Clinton, who is now 65, led to a Republican-prompted impeachment in the House and a trial.

What are you trying to to, Mike O'Brien, audition for the NY Times, with that kind of journalistic fraud?  You fail, boy.

I heard on some report some months back that she hasn't had any relationship since Clinton--a friend opined that she's never gotten over him.   ::puke::

Looks like she could lose 50 lbs.
As I recall, she was chubby to begin with but she's damn near fat now

She should just grow up and get on with her life.
Youthful indiscretions are part of life.

Not that I would know anything about that.

Nothing has changed from then to now in her appearance except her face has gotten a bit longer. Her sit hasn't anything to do with what she did, her upbringing had everything to do with it then and now. I'd say a good lesson to learn from but plenty of people like her still coming out of the wood work.
