Groupthink is a powerful thing.
We are so far past and beyond the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that the Colonists and Founders experienced and which necessitated the Revolutionary War that they aren’t even visible in the rear-view mirror.

America, do not underestimate what these scum sucking enemies within are capable of.

Be prepared for anything and everything.

Violence is, and always has been part of the process of the type of transformational change for which they seek.

OccupyTogether with Inescapable Love

It began in New York. It has spread to 500 American cities, and counting. And today, it comes to Houston.

While the mainstream media scrambles to try to get the country to dismiss this rising tide as a rag-tag bunch of hippies and lazy students, there are others who are watching, listening, and finding the courage to ask the question, “What’s going on, here?”

Moments like this one are sacred moments in the civic and spiritual life in our country.

The overlap in funding along with organizing personnel is staggering. Reminds me of the Soviet military parades from the late fifties and early sixties when the same piece of hardware was driven around the block again and again so as to give the false impression of multitude of it.

Is there any difference in what we're seeing today?

Our esteemed local news did a story today on the protest started in Nashville.  I swear, there may have been 10-20 people, but they got coverage. To be fair, they showed "the other side", which was two guys protesting the wall street protestors.

Couple of us were talking about it today, actually laughing at the make shift signs trumpeting "corporations" ruling the gov't. Hell, If my corp ran the gov't, there would be no EPA, dept of education, dept of energy.....gov't would actually be off the peoples backs. You'd think the wall street protestors could figure that out, but they are too busy taking the money from the unions, who ironically in the obama world, hold much more power over gov't officials....or gov't.

Not to mention the gov't control of corps, such as GM and gov't control of banks and insurance.

Another theory we kicked around is obama will include each protestor as a job created, lowering the unemployment rate.

Heck, I'm beginning to enjoy the protests. Should have figured out it would be societies bottom dwellers who will eventually define the "new movement".

And those who are still stupid enough to compare this to the Tea Party? ::hysterical:: ::hysterical::

Where did the author go?   ::whatgives::

You mean Ttomm? He didn't like it that I asked him to refrain from cursing in thread titles, and that I started the poll asking people to decide the fate of the "Double-Bird" emoticon. Rather than understand my request and my poll, he asked me to delete his account. I complied with his request.

 ::whatgives::

Yes, really. Apparently cursing in thread titles and flipping people off profusely was more important to him than actually being here.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

It's in the "More" box.
