RNC Finance Co-Chair: Silly peasants; we're giving you Romney
« on: October 05, 2011, 11:36:43 AM »
I want this GOP establishment torn asunder. They are worse than Leftists, because they pretend at conservatism, and undercut it at every turn.

HT: Gatewaypundit...

TOP GOP Official: We “Do Not Consider Perry a Factor… We Know Who it is Who Will be Our Nominee”

Following Governor Christie’s announcement on Tuesday top GOP official and bundler Gerogette Mosbacher told reporters, “We do not consider Perry a factor… We know who will be our nominee.”
Race for 2012 reported:

[blockquote]Those words were spoken today by Georgette Mosbacher, RNC Finance Co-Chair and huge GOP fundraiser, after Chris Christie’s announcement. The “we” is all the big bundlers, fundraisers, and money folks who have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the field to be set — and that quote represents the coalescing around Mitt Romney that is expected to happen rather quickly now. Mosbacher went on to say:
[blockquote]“I think tomorrow, we’ll be contacting one another and probably put something together with Romney… And I would say that the race is now Romney and Obama. Quite frankly, the enthusiasm wasn’t there at the outset. He’s less conservative than a lot of us would like. However, our first and foremost goal is to defeat Obama. And we do believe Romney, in terms of independents, will be a strong candidate. We will coalesce behind him now… the time has come to get behind him… Tomorrow I’ll be on the phone all day. Quite frankly, it’ll be easier, because now we know who it is who will be our nominee. So we will pull our Rolodexes out and get to work.”[/blockquote]
Fellow bundler and sideline-sitter John Catsimatidis added, “I’m going to go with Mitt Romney. I don’t think Perry has it in him to do it. He’s a lot better than Sarah Palin, but not a lot lot better.”

Ouch.

In related news, Romney also scored another major fundraiser from the Draft Christie movement: Ken Langone. Langone is the founder of Home Depot and is described as a “titan” in the political money scene. He backed Rudy Giuliani in 2008, helping Giuliani out raise the other candidates. There is evidence that a great deal of the money that had sat on the sidelines so far in this race will now fall into Romney’s coffers.

Rick Perry, for his part, got the endorsement of another Draft Christie member: Gary Kirke, a west Iowa investor and casino owner who had also been sitting on the sidelines until this afternoon.[/blockquote]

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Isn't Home Depot big in gay rights?

Could be, Idunno. Something's tickling my memory that Home Depot's founder is a conservative who's come out strongly against Obama. But he may be a fiscal conservative and liberal on social issues, Idunno.

...we saw how well that worked out...

It will be torn asunder if the Ruling Class stiffs us with another hand-picked nominee...I will not vote for a Ruling Class candidate, period!

Go ahead, blame me for reelecting Obama, your Ruling Class accusations mean nothing to me!  And they will mean even less once the GOP as been blown up.

If there is a nation worth inheriting in the aftermath it will be a new party, the Tea Party, or a real conservative party or whatever that takes ascendance, the Ruling Class is dead, they're just to stupid to realize it (or too powerless to prevent it)!!!

The Home Depot guy has said he wouldn't have been able to start his business, in Obama's America.
Also a corporate kind of gay pride guy, marching with a lot of guys that look like Georgette Mosbacher.  ::evil::

Looks like the non-bundlers need to rally around a candidate.

Well, I don't want him.

I think there's a lot of people who aren't going to settle at least through the primaries.

I quit giving to the RNC about six years ago over the comprehensive immigration crap that they were behind.

I only give money to individual candidates now.

Romney won't see a cent from me.

I'm thinking that Herman Cain will be my next donation.

I'm not always engulfed in scandals, but when I am, I make sure I blame others.

Local radio says Romney is busy buying Florida, scaring Florida seniors with the help of the Bushies and Mel Martinez.

Will Rubio endorse a candidate and who will it be?

What this tells me is that we WILL get Romney as the GOP nominee UNLESS we, as a grassroots conservative base, RISE UP, and refuse to be "McCained" in these early primaries.

Yup, well, I'll do my part.

Agreed, and my contribution will go to Cain.
