You Will Be Hated and Despised

Delnorin:
I am starting a new thread for this topic. At another discussion on this forum I felt compelled to speek about something but I didn't want to take over that thread with this new tangent (math geek joke: tangent = sine / cosine).

That discussion can be read here:  http://itsaboutliberty.com/index.php/topic,3337.msg36856.html#msg36856
Also it directly ties into this post: http://itsaboutliberty.com/index.php/topic,3324.msg36896.html#msg36896

Communism-socialism cannot compete if religion is in the mix. Proves beyond a shadow of any doubt that Marxism is pure evil at least in my mind.

It's strangely similar to another experience:

(Disclaimer: Explanation of Christianity in italics; if you don't need/want the explination skip the italics):

There is a very interesting experience you will encounter if you become a Christian.  You will make a personal decision just between you and God.  It has nothing to do with other people.. but a one on one commitment between you and the Almighty.  You purposefully admit that you have sinned in your life; you've muddled up thinks enough and you're tired of heading down this road of destruction, bad decisions and selfishness and that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

You believe that Jesus Christ came to this earth from Heaven, lived a blameless life and at the end of his life here he choose to die on the cross as the last required sacrifice for the sins of Man.  Because of his death and after three days his resurrection he has conquered death.

You accept his sacrifice for you and ask God to lead you through the rest of your life; that you will seek after his guidance and counsel and turn from your old ways of selfishness, greed, pride, etc, etc.

Your decision to be come a Christian:
1: Personal decision between you and God.  Has nothing to do with the person to your left or right, your kids, your wife, your parents.. nobody but your own decision.

Now comes the weird experience.

As a Christian you can meet a complete stranger that doesn't know you from Adam (or Eve: Ironic choice of names on purpose to be funny) and you will get a very bizarre aggressive anger and hatred coming at you that has no explanation.  You get to experience a raw and deep hatred as if you've skinned their child with a dull knife on live television the night before and they can't hold back their desire to rip you limb from limb and get their hands around your throat.

You don't even have to mention Christ.  You don't have to say anything about having changed your life.  You don't have to appear any different than any other random person walking down the street.

After decades of being a Christian it's a very strange event you start to make sense of the more it happens and it's something that I find other Christians encounter on occasion.  It appears to boil down to an unexplained revulsion and repelling of the person from the presence of the Holy Spirit within you.

Now, you'll come across those that are really hung up and over-the-top infatuated with the battle of Good vs. Evil and the battle within the spiritual realm of demons and angels.  As all things, there is balance to keep in our lives.  Even things that are true can be warped beyond their due place in your life.  But this battle persists in the spiritual realm none-the-less.

At times, its effects spill over into the visible world around us.  It's like a fire in the next room making the door hot.  You don't see the fire in the next room but it is effecting what you can experience and sense in the room you are in now.  I believe it's a similar effect that explains this strange experience.

There is a natural revulsion within those that are at a spiritual level, in conflict with God.
Mark 13:13  "All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."

To tie into the other two threads that inspired me to write this down:

American Flag:

This Country was founded on Judeo-Christian Principals.  What does that mean?

It means that the common laws and beliefs of God that are shared between Jews and Christians alike have truths that can not be ignored.  You don't steal from your neighbor, you don't kill your neighbor, you don't try and take his wife, etc, etc, etc.  Just general beliefs that bind people together and are just 'no duh' guidelines for your life.  The individual specific beliefs between the religions aren't pushed forward and forced on people.. but the no-duh guidelines of the beliefs are used to make the decisions and foundation of this new Country.

I believe it's this foundational building of our Country (and later the reflection of these facts in symbols like the Flag) taps into this Good vs Evil battle that goes on around us and this same revulsion of Christians as I explained above.  It's also why you see the burning of the flag by Muslims.  It's a pure hatred of those that have started their Country based on the things of God.  Have you ever looked into the eyes of the Muslims burning the American Flag?  Have you ever seen an American in a march here in the States doing the same thing?  They can't even explain themselves the sheer rage within as they are doing it.  There are not words to express their utter boiling hatred towards it.

The March on WallStreet:

I think warpmine has very well voiced this experience here as well.

I think this is a possible explanation why the Ten Commandments in public places, prayer in schools, etc, etc.. It is why these things keep coming up.

I hope I was able to explain these thoughts well enough for others to benefit from my pondering as well.

Pandora:
If I understand correctly, what you're saying is revulsion for the Flag is not solely rejection of a symbol of our culture/country, it's a greater rejection of Christianity/Judaism/God upon which the country was founded?

Yes.  Thank you for translating my babbling into one sentence. :)

IronDioPriest:
Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

I think it is incumbent upon me to relocate this thread to the Faith & Family section in the interest of tidiness and consistency...
