"I refuse to give up on CLASS just as I refuse to give up on health care reform," Pallone said in his opening statement at a hearing held by the House Energy and Commerce Committee. "I'm tired of the Republican rhetoric that says Congress and government in general can't do anything. And, I certainly don't think that HHS should play into the same theme."

He went on to say that, "I suggest that the Department go back to the drawing board, be optimistic and come up with a plan that implements CLASS."

Some people just don't seem to grasp the notion that Obamacare is an EPIC FAIL and are stubbornly still trying to make it work it seems.

They want it, period.  They want the control.  And if it doesn't comport with reality, they will twist reality until it does.  One way or another.

Yup. And it is also wise to acknowledge that some substantial percentage of people who have a negative opinion of ObamaCare have that opinion because it does not implement 100% taxpayer-funded universal single-payer health care for all.

This asshole wants what he wants. He's of the Richard Trumka mindset - that is, he wants the regime to stop thinking about what is possible, and just do what is "needed", as defined by people like this asshole.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

The left always accused him of acting and they were right.
What they didn't understand was that the acting part was
expressing his wealth of knowledge as everyman.

If only more people had such clarity.

I look about me today and am sickened by the feckless types pretending to be leaders!

Republicans working on healthcare replacement

Of course this is a Reuters piece so take it with a grain of salt...

Quote
House Republicans are working to create a legislative blueprint they can sell to voters after the Supreme Court rules on Obama's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the nation's most sweeping healthcare legislation since Medicare and Medicaid in the 1960s.

Hrm, donno if I like the sounds of this. Still, it is Reuters so it could have been tossed in there just to stir things up...

Quote
But if the high court justices struck down the entire law, Republicans could try to salvage some of the Affordable Care Act's provisions that are already in force and have proved popular with voters.

Screw that noise!  "Wealth redistribution" is "popular with voters"; it just depends on WHICH voters one asks.

Is it Constitutional?  Does it infringe on ANYBODY's Liberty?  Those are the questions that need proper answers.

This has now damaged my calm.

Exactly! I am so sick of hearing about what is "popular" with voters. I'm sure it would be popular to never have to work, it would be popular to eat all the dessert you want without gaining weight, it would be popular sleep late every morning. All these things would be popular, but they're also all fantasy.

I guess it will just go on being "popular" to live off the earnings of others, until those others decide to stop earning. And that is exactly what will happen.

Speaking of these popular provisions, this is an example that always comes to mind when I hear about the popularity of dependent coverage being extended to age 26. In Obama's America a 26 year old is, for health insurance purposes, a "child". In World War II the average American soldier was....26. So in 2012 a 26 year old is still a child, and in 1944 a 26 year old can storm the beaches at Normandy.

Also about that average age 26, 46 year old's were in the military and in the average
6 year old's were not, etc.  Speculatively, the average age to hit the beach was closer
to 20 than 26.  Which, I think, makes your point more solid.

Those fools need to kill it then let the dust settle.  No, they want to fill the vacuum
with their own crap.  Actually they're not smart enough, insurance companies have
been reaching across the isle and whispering sweet nothings for the last year.
