I'm not a fan of these modern debates BUT
« on: October 24, 2011, 03:33:09 PM »
the thought of actually watching this one has a thrill going up both my legs.

Newt vs. Cain.  One on one, without any of those other also-rans trying to pick fights with each other.  The winner gets to be head of the ticket.  ::cool::  ::USA::

Newt would crush Cain.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

In background conversations, both campaigns say they look forward to the discussion.

Herman's been running a make or break campaign and this solidifies that he intends to continue this
tactic till one or the other is accomplished.

I think I said this before.
I worked the Iowa Straw Poll as a volunteer.
And was assigned to the Cain camp.
Went for Bachmann but after talking to Herman for about 1/2 an hour he had me looks you in the eye, firm hand shake, and IMHO is the real deal.
Go Cain! ::whoohoo:: ::USA::

I wouldn't dismiss Herman out of hand, gNewt can be baited, you just have to be oblique in the attack.  The key is to get him talking by asking for more details...gNewt loves the sound of his own voice and will take the bait...sometimes gNewt talks too much, then you can pick up the candy he tossed out and have some sport with it.  Being a business man surely Herman is not without wiles.

But a Lincoln-Douglas debate format with Barry with no notes or teleprompters?  I would pay to see that.
We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.

Pay to see it?  Oh, youbet cha'.

The debate is to be restricted to the subject of entitlements,
that constriction will allow a much better debate.

Sure, Newt the Master, who decided to sit along Nancy Pelosi and talk about AGW. Fooled by that he ain't that damn smart. If you're unsure of an issue perhaps you would be better off researching it before endorsing it. Nope, jumped into the shark infester water just after he bit his lip. ::cussing::
