What I wouldn't give for a federal government that says "You're on your own."

Really. There would be some risks involved. But having Washington DC out of our faces so the state and local governments could operate as intended would be such a wonderful blessing - I can only dream of it.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

There are no risks in Kindergarten. Teacher makes sure everyone is nice to each other and that everyone gets a cookie and a trip to the school nurse when they need it

::hysterical:: I don't know why I'm laughin, it is so sad we have so many Americans who believe gov't is their only answer. But I can see the sarcasm dripping here. ::hysterical::

As a local radio personality says often, "Life... is dangerous."

Bring it on.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. Whoops, that was supposed to be on the thread about the word "accost".

Appropriate here as well as the Federal government and Duh Wun are deleterious to the people.

As far as risk is concerned, we're more at risk from the tender ministrations of all government than we are if we're left "on our own".

Yeah, leave that word here, it's a good one!  Nothing is as hazardous to our health as Obamaism!
We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.
