How do you fight a war against people that would blow up children hopped up on drugs with the rules our guys and gals have?  Let's let our CIC and Congress do a year rotation.  The country would likely be better off. 

It's past time to treat this war as a war or come home!

I never understood why the American Military didn't obliterate the Poppy fields and put an end to Afghanistan's Drug Trade immediately. If you want to get someones attention you cut to the chase. I am sure Afghanistan, would have been a different place to live today if they had. Not better just more manageable!

was where we should wage war.  His predecessor occupied Afghanistan (established
and maintained military bases), eliminated madrassas, stopped export of terrorists,

You put down a Rabid Dog, can't see a difference here at all. As far as the Poppy Fields, it is helping make these Mad Dog Deranged Killers brave. Either take care of business there, or wait, and take care of business here!

The only time opium production dipped was, ironically, when the Taliban began cracking down on it for religious reasons.  Once we reduced the Taliban threat the tribal leaders/warlords took over as they saw it as a means to fund their desire for weapons and other supplies, just as they did when the Soviets toppled the old regime.  And now the Taliban are again realigning with the tribal warlords.  SSDD and poppy production marches merrily on.  IMO we blew it big time by not dropping napalm on every square inch of every poppy field in the nation.
