I don't know if it can all be laid at the feet of the Tea Party supporters AP, they are but a fraction of the voters selecting candidates and voting in the general elections...doing a better job on the selection side is necessary though.

I don't blame it all on the Tea Party, either, Libertas.

Only stating that it's dead.

Too early to say, once the primaries start it could revive, but, we'll see...

Hawk, I wasn't joking
The high water mark was the 2010 elections where 80+ new republican congressmen were elected.
What has been the result of that?
At best, 20 or so reflect tea party values.

Who, of the top 6 candidates for president reflects Tea Party values?
Maybe we should look at the effect on the states?
Not much there either.

Why aren't we marching on Washington and demanding Boehner and McConnell's resignation?

Maybe we can do something on local school boards

This is what I keep referring to when I talk about a demographic timebomb. We're just getting a taste of what mathematical impossibility is like at the voting booth. The Left has very cleverly, diabolically really (and I mean that literally), swollen the ranks of people who depend on their ministrations in order to continue receiving things taken from others under the color of law.

But MNHawk's point is absolutely valid: they can continue to swell government and rack up more and more debt, but they can't continue to pay for it forever with valueless imaginary money, and becoming increasingly confiscatory in an effort to feed Leviathan will only aggravate the problem in the long term.

I don't think the Tea Party is dead. I think the GOP may be, but the Tea Party has evolved into an electoral force.

Look at what happened in 2010. It's easy to see the hamstrung congress flailing and failing under the old leadership and party apparatus. But do not forget what took place at the state level. To call the massive tsunami that swept state legislatures and governorships anything but a paradigm shift ignores the evidence. That is our farm team. And the people who drove that paradigm shift have not fallen back into a comfort zone. They have become the local grassroots of the GOP, and they see that the Leftists have not rested, so they do not rest. It hasn't filtered up to DC yet, but it will. The question is, is it too late.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Radio said the union spent $30,000,000.00.
How much did the opposition spend?
