"The President’s plan is to simply say ‘no’ to new energy production," House Natural Resources Committee chairman Doc Hastings, R-Wash, said to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar during a hearing pertaining to hydraulic fracturing. "It’s a plan that is sending American jobs overseas, forfeiting new revenue, and denying access to American energy that would lessen our dependence on hostile Middle Eastern oil."

Salazar denied that suggestion, noting the sales of mineral leases over the last two years, but he also affirmed environmentalist concerns. "The increasing use of hydraulic fracturing has raised a number of concerns about the potential impacts on water quality and availability, particularly with respect to the chemical composition of fracturing fluids and the methods used."

SSDD.  The House Republicans, as indicated by Hastings' response, know damn well what's going on, yet they do nothing.  Surely they have some legislative way of corralling these rogue agencies, or at least threatening them with defunding?  It seems the agencies take turns at obstructing any attempt to harvest our resources, using convoluted "reasoning"; what business does the USDA actually have delaying the use of mineral leases?

USDA?  I don't fracking know and neither does anybody else!  The alphabet soup agency involved is interchangeable as far as The Regime goes...common sense, the constitution don't mean jack squat to these tyrants!

Congress should step in and defund all these rogues ASAP!

But as always, they have balls that can't been seen with an electron microscope!

Sure, they sell the leases, then don't give permits to drill. They make money without doing any "Harm" to the environment. ::rockets::

I'm with Pan. What the HELL does the USDA have to do with drilling?

This government no longer has the consent of the governed, and by "the governed" I conspicuously exclude the multitudes who are more accurately described as wards of the state. The latter are only useful as malcontent mobs, it is the former who actually make anything work, and that segment clearly no longer has any form of meaningful representation in the government.

It's only a matter of time before this whole thing goes *poof*
