Silly Rooskies Deploy Ship(s) to Syrian Waters

Since the Black Sea Fleet has maybe 50 ships, lucky if half that amount is deployable, and half that is probably growing more ancient by the day...they can't mount anything too serious...not to us anyway, a meddlesome pest is what they are and they just want to protect their boy Assad, with him gone so might be their basing rights in Tartus (or as I call it Tortosa, it's Crusader name!).

They've been working so long to get that Iranian oil
another piddling war, ours or theirs, is not going to
dampen their desire.

They are predictable.

We don't need a reset button to deal with them, that's just an excuse to look the other way, we need to fight them the same way we did during the Cold War...

Time for us to get on with it!  (Well, in 426 days we can!)

If the Pentagram had a pair they would have those
rockets that were intended for Poland in storage and
ready to put in the mail.  I like Cain's Aegis idea:
the fleet doubled and stationed around the world.
Not the Great White Fleet but the Great Walnut Fleet.

Aegis are expensive and require more screening vessels, not that it wouldn't be greatly beneficial, but we also have need of more anti-sub ships/subs to counter the ChiCom threat.  Plus, would need more LCC's (command ships).  The budget only allows so much, I'd have to look at Cain's plan in more detail.  I think the ChiCom threat could be checked relatively inexpensively...but an extended naval shield of global dimensions is a really big deal.

"I think the ChiCom threat could be checked relatively inexpensively.."

Possibly subsidizing Taiwan would be the most efficient and mutually
beneficial arrangement.
