This is precisely why Barack Obama and his Democrat cohorts must be defeated in 2012. Here is Sen. John Kerry (AKA “Lurch”) this morning where he said tax increases are coming in 2013. When asked to give details on supposed “cuts” the Democrats put forward to get a debt deal, he immediately began backpeddling and made clear they were not actual “cuts” to spending programs, but only “slowing the rate of increase.”

Same sort of thing cited here:

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said he supports the cuts because they don't actually reduce any defense spending. Rather, they cut back on the scheduled increases.

And here:

"I think we need to be honest about it," Paul said in an interview on CNN Sunday. "The interesting thing is there will be no cuts in military spending. This may surprise some people, but there will be no cuts in military spending because we're only cutting proposed increases. If we do nothing, military spending goes up 23 percent over 10 years. If we sequester the money, it will still go up 16 percent. So spending is still rising under any of these plans."

Only thing that was even considered, and that was rejected, was a cut in the increase of spending.  And when Paul says "spending is still rising under ANY of these plans", I'm betting he's talking about the Republican "plans" as well.

They don't get it because there isn't any danger of a noose hanging outside their windows.
These people, the majority of them are slime so you'll never get them to obey the constitution or even common sense until their well being or lives are threatened which conveniently they've made illegal. The result is an entitled aristocracy that's omnipitent. Most of them should be tried for treason and other crimes against the constitution of which they've violated again and again. I know this is a harsh assessment of the situation but we must face the truth, these people could care less for the country and even more so for the people to which they serve. Damn then all to Hell.

What get's lost in all the wrangling & he/she said is the true impact. Our "leaders" are condemning our kids, specifically my 2 boys, to a life of servitude. The "leaders" only care about one thing; power. They say the "right things" to get re-elected, get more seniority & get more power. Not only do they not care what the cost of the actual legislation is, they don't even read it.
