WI Gov Walker Rebuffs Dem's in Exile

These Dem's are terrorists, holding the state taxpayers as hostage, there can be no negotiating with terrorists!

Walker just sums up their BS as "ridiculous".  A man of few words.

The AWOL Dem's can spout all they want, the Governor doesn't have to do squat, because it is they, not he, who have abondonded their responsibilities!

I'm pleased he is sticking to his principles and not giving one damn inch to these criminals!

...I'm pleased he is sticking to his principles and not giving one damn inch to these criminals!

I am pleased that he hasn't given up or given in. But in my opinion, he's been giving inches to these thugs every damn day - inches of rope with which he's begging the Democrats to hang him.

This has gone on about two-and-a-half weeks too long. The day after the Democrats fled, Walker held every possible card he was ever gonna hold. They were the ones who were engaging in outrageous, inexcusable behavior, and he should have seen that the longer this went on, the greater opportunity the fleebaggers would have to demagogue the situation to a sympathetic media.

The moment they fled, he should have pressured the state GOP to schedule votes for the entire laundry list of the GOP agenda. Concealed Carry, Voter ID, Right-to-Work, and anything else they could think of should have been put imminently on the table. Then the collective bargaining reform measures should have been separated from the budget items and scheduled for a vote as well.

He could have forced the Democrats to choose between inexcusably fleeing on the one hand, and standing AWOL as the GOP agenda passed without their participation on the other hand. It would have put the fleebaggers in a completely untenable political position.

But here we are, almost three weeks later. The Democrats have indeed demagogued, and the media has indeed given them a sympathetic mouthpiece with which to do it. And poll after poll shows that it is not the Democrats, but Walker and the GOP who are paying the price in the court of public opinion as this thing drags on.

It could have been over by now. Think of it. Old news by now. The protests may have occurred, but against the backdrop of legislation already passed, with no hope of stopping it.

Crucial errors, IMHO. So yeah, kudos to Walker for not giving up or giving in. But damn him for playing the genteel Republican game. That kind of weakness has allowed the Democrats to wreak their havoc against this country, and we need men who will stand up.

The headlines, provides by (insert Journalism School retard here) is that Walker refuses to meet with them.  As if the leftist trash walked up to his office, knocked, and were turned away.

Obviously, the reality is that Walker refuses to travel to Illinois!

Nice touch, with the letter, giving the J-School retards one more thing to ignore in their stories.

Yep. That's it in a nutshell. The "genteel Republican game" frustrates me to no end. Why do they still indulge it? It's predicated on two fundamentally flawed and consistently disproved premises, namely that: a) the Democrats are participating in the process in good faith so we must reciprocate, and b) it will prevent the media from having ammunition with which to demagogue and demonize the Republicans.

This is precisely the reason we're in this mess. The country is going down the toilet in large part due to the ineptness of the nominal "opposition party". They have squandered the initiative in Wisconsin. So utterly typical.

You've got to be kidding me. The President of the United States is going to involve himself in recalling a legitimately elected governor because he doesn't want public unions to lose power?

Is this confirmed?

Sort of.

Senate President Scott Fitzgerald sees team Obama behind this:

“We’re really beginning, I think, to believe that this isn’t just about the Wisconsin state Senate or the legislature,” he said. “This is about ties directly from the White House down to many of those that are involved in the recalls, and really how Wisconsin plays out in the next presidential election."

Heard this on Levin a few minutes back...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate have voted to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from public workers after discovering a way to bypass the chamber's missing Democrats.

All 14 Senate Democrats fled to Illinois nearly three weeks ago, preventing the chamber from having enough members present to consider Gov. Scott Walker's so-called "budget repair bill" - a proposal introduced to plug a $137 million budget shortfall.

The Senate requires a quorum to take up any measures that spend money. But Republicans on Wednesday split from the legislation the proposal to curtail union rights, and a special conference committee of state lawmakers approved that bill a short time later.

The move set up a vote in the Senate, which voted mere moments later.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

Yes, it should. They should have been passing other legislation too, stuff the Dhims hate like voter ID requirements, etc.

I was thinking about that yesterday. Now that so much time has elapsed, and the Dems have had so much opportunity to demagogue, think of how much more infinitely difficult the rest of the GOP agenda will be to accomplish now in Wisconsin. Unless these Republicans have balls of steel, the temptation to ingratiate themselves with the local media in an effort to staunch political wounds will be immense. They'll likely be reaching across the aisle to compromise on everything.

The quotes from the AP are stories filed by Scott Bauer who is with THE BOSTON GLOBE . His filings have a definite leftward slant . Anyone surprised ?
