I already know what they're going to say, and that they are going to lie and defend that which I find indefensible. I find them utterly contemptible. Arguing with them only legitimizes them as having something worth discussing, which I don't believe they do. I've already come to the conclusions necessary to dismiss them out of hand. Further interaction does nothing for me, and like Pan said, it seriously intrudes on my calm.

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Eww!
Apt analogy, but it doesn't exactly paint us in a very good image. ;)

Reminds me of the past forum conversations about the "Bug-Chasing" homosexual community. If I was an antibody in that pus I'd stand aside and let infection do its good work.

...They only "win" arguments where they have a majority and can shout down (or ban) their opponents....
That's what happened to me repeatedly at digg.com. I would register an account, spend about 3 or 4 weeks schooling the libs, get banned, resurrect under a new username, and start all over.

You don't see too many conservatives fighting the good fight at the DailyKos or PuffHo. They know it's a lost cause and aren't sufficiently masochistic to hang out there and take abuse.

I tried registering accounts and posting at both places once upon a time. At Kos, my post appeared, and then it was removed and I was banned. At Huffpo, my comment never appeared and I was banned.

Happens to me everytime I register an account at Think Progress

Not that I love libtards, but it can become like an echo chamber around here without any libtards to kick around.  ::laughonfloor::

Go ahead tell me you don't go out into the fever swamps avery so often to get a fix?I know I do. Every so often I just have to slap one or two aroung just to keep in shape.

I really don't anymore, and haven't for a while. Once I settled on the reality of Leftists as the enemy of my country and way of life, I have zero desire to interact rhetorically with them any further. They aren't worth the brain power and precious moments it takes for me to argue against their lies.

That, and they piss me the hell off.  It's too much work to interact with them, with very little to show for it except a rise in the BP.  Local forum = perfect example.  Some days I cannot believe the crap there and the buyers-in.  Feh.

And you expect us to believe that YOU sit by saying nothing?WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH PANDORA?? ::evilbat:: ::slapfight::

Yes, many times I say nothing; it's just not worth the aggravation.

You've been there, you know exactly what I'm talking about; rebut their bullsht strongly and yer accused of being "adversarial and rude", or "that's a matter of opinion", despite a link.  The leftists on the board are a collective, in both the wide and narrow meaning of the word, and they want everybody else in it.  And I'm freakin sick and tired of "educating" their g'damned kids via my property taxes, while being told "it's the community's responsibility, as a whole, to contribute - (and they don't mean just money) - to the schools".

It's like IDP wrote:

We don't always agree on things here, and that's about the level of argument I'm willing to deal with right now.  It's going to get a whole lot more "personal" locally, and soon, and I'd just as soon bide my time and energy.

Hey the white blood cells are the good guys. Sometimes overwhelmed and then the body dies. That's DailyKos...the living dead.

I reached the conclusion that the sort of society they want is so diametrically opposed to what we want (our vision being that of the Founders) that there can be no "debate" or "compromise". I believe it was Ayn Rand who said "What is the compromise between food and poison?" That's exactly how I see the Left.

I'm now convinced that there is going to have to be a physical separation from them, because I am not living in their wet dream Soviet-esque fantasy land. Cohabitation is increasingly impossible. The seeds of this have always been there, but I think it was the election of Chairman Zero that they interpreted to be their green light, and we're now seeing what was only speculative before. Their recent behavior in Wisconsin and Ohio is just the very first fleeting taste of what's to come.

I think a physical separation would be ideal but I see no practical (or moral, or ethical) way to achieve it. I'm not leaving. They won't voluntarily go. That's a bit of an impasse.

I post daily in a forum primarily for trombone players, and yes, they are very very very liberal. It seems like artists and stuff always seem to have a liberal gene grown in them - I don't know what happened to me, but I'm glad!

Anyway, they have a chit-chat section, and under that, they have a purely politics section, and I had to quit posting there because they are so insane. I don't know how otherwise very intelligent members of our society can become such morons when it comes to pollitics, but there you have it. And this forum is not a place to collect wing-nuts like others such as kos or what have you. They are there because of their commonality of being professinal trombone players. Go figure!!

...I post daily in a forum primarily for trombone players...

Isn't it funny to think about how these online "communities" spring up around just about everything under the sun? Politics I get, but a forum for trombone players??? I never imagined!

I was quite surprised when I stumbled a couple years ago onto a bass-boat/fishing forum and discovered not only a huge online community, but several huge online communities all serving that segment of people. Amazing stuff, these interwebs.

I was going through some digital stuff and came across an interesting (to me) picture. I had done a screen-grab and what I didn't realize is that it grabbed both screens of my dual-monitor system. I've cropped out the extraneous stuff leaving a little blast from the past...

The first forums I got involved with were music related on either geocities or yahoo.

My favorite for a couple of years was the Stevie Ray Vaughan discussion forum. I met a lot of great people and it opened opportunities to trade bootlegs of concerts.

Like everything else the lefties associated with the site ruined it. post-911 the left was looking for ways to undermine Bush and there was no place that was exempt - even music discussion forums. One prominent poster misused her influence with the site to float anti-Bush sentiments. Naturally I countered her attacks. Equally naturally the other lefties and the squishy middle aligned with her and against me.

That was one of the first sites that I Opussed out of, leaving with a hearty "FU!"

I decided that I needed to expand my political awareness and soon enough discovered FreeRepublic. From there I followed links to such places as Little Green Footballs, Redstate, Politico, and Powerline.

My very first post at Powerline put me in the crosshairs of a female troll (lucy something..Alice maybe?) who flatly told me that I was full of sh!t. That told me that I was in the right place! Roy and Rocketman used to post a pic from "The Blair Witch Project" making fun of her. Anyway, right after that rather abrupt introduction I ran headlong into Old Jim. I didn't think anyone could drink that much Sterno!
