Yes, those are amazing photos. Seeing rare color photographs makes those "a long time ago when everything was in B&W" times seem a lot more real.

This is another great series, color photographs taken during World War One:

Did anybody else notice that there were no fat people. None. Black, white, native American?
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living
are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

I noticed an error on photograph #31. The caption reads, "Young African American boy. Cincinnati, Ohio, 1942 or 1943."

African-Americans did not exist until the 1990s, when they were created by the Left.

 ::oldman::

ETA: Same thing with #35. "African Americans fishing in creek near cotton plantations. Belzoni, Mississippi, October 1939."

Somebody at the Denver Post needs to do some fact-checking.

 ::pokeineye::

ETA2: Also notice how minorities are given an identifier. When it's White trash, it's just "children" or "couples" or a proper name, or a description of the activity or event in the photo. When it's a minority, the subject is their ethnicity against the backdrop of the photograph.

Carry on.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Here's the reason for that, from the bit at the top of the website:

The photographs and captions are the property of the Library of Congress and were included in a 2006 exhibit Bound for Glory: America in Color.

IDP, maybe you had tongue in cheek when you wrote "White trash", but these are depression-era photos, therefore lots of poorly dressed people do not necessarily mean they are trash.  Had to say so.

Mmmm, glad you said something. My intention was most definitely tongue in cheek. I was speaking in character of the photojournalist, as in: African-Americans on the one hand, White Trash on the other.
