I'm going to a hockey game.....while I still have the money.
I'm not always engulfed in scandals, but when I am, I make sure I blame others.

I'm willing to bet money that there will be at least 5 minutes wasted on the word "zany."  Better yet, how 'bout a drink for every utterance of the word.  The establishment (and yes, Fox news is guilty too) seems to think the rest of the country is interested in their "zany" minutia.  Makes. Me. Sick.

Just got home. Yes, I will be watching and as far as I'm concerned the chat room will be open.

For anyone who does not know about the chat room: Go to the bottom of any screen and hit the "Login to Chat" button. You should also click on the avatar window and select your own avatar.

In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

Delnorin: WootWoot! Megyn Kelly (drool)
Charles Oakwood: Commentators said there would be infighting./ I don't think so.
trapeze: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:04 pm (ct).
Delnorin: Welcome Trap.
 trapeze: Megyn. Ummm.
Delnorin: Yeah... just dreamy.
Charles Oakwood: Fox is trying to make them fight
Delnorin: I see that.. the first question is prodding Newt to start a fight.
 Charles Oakwood: Isn't she anorexic?
Delnorin: If she *is*.... then I like'em skinny.
trapeze: Paul out of the gate stating the obvious
Delnorin: I think Ron Paul would look great in a red bow-tie.
Delnorin: And a top hat.
trapeze: that anyone (even him presumably) can beat O'Bama
Charles Oakwood: I'd like to see him shred the Fed
trapeze: Hey Rick! How come you are a loser?
Delnorin: Agreed Charles... take a chainsaw to the Fed until only the foundation is remaining... then rip that out with a dozer.
 trapeze: Great question, Megyn
Charles Oakwood: Santorum, go to guy. Really>?
Delnorin: I like Santorum... he's one of the few I know wouldn't stab me in the back by "reaching across the isle to make communists happy".
trapeze: He is currently my first choice
trapeze: Bachmann is my number two
 Charles Oakwood: That's Levin's picks
Delnorin: I think it shows just how far away from Conservative values the Republican party really is. The very lowest approved rating... it the one we like the most.
trapeze: Romney's hair is particularly shiny tonight
Delnorin: Bachman and Santorum are my top two also.
Delnorin: Romney: A little dab 'll do ya.
trapeze: Perry is waiting to pounce on Romney
Charles Oakwood: Said today Rom presided over 146 mergers and 3 wehnt belly up
Delnorin: Bachman is so lovely to look at. Megyn Kelly puts my hormones in 5th gear within 1 second.. Bachman though.. she's just lovely and pure looking... like it.
trapeze: She looks good tonight...last debate, not so much
trapeze: Her hair was down last time and it looked bad
trapeze: Tonight she looks very good
Charles Oakwood: The further she is from her handlers the better she is
trapeze: Cavuto to Perry: How come you suck?
Delnorin: I hope my liking her isn't too influence by how pretty she is. I don't think it is... but I'm not denying she's purty.
Delnorin: Perry working a bit too hard there to make a quote that will print tomorrow in the papers.
trapeze: Pretty weak on the Tebow comparison...sparse applause
Delnorin: Huntsman blows.
 trapeze: Blows beets
trapeze: The funny thing is that there are a lot of polling points to be had by viciously attacking O'Bama and no one is doing it
IronDioPriest: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:15 pm (ct).
Delnorin: Welcome IDP.
 IronDioPriest: Hey there
IronDioPriest: Can't stay long, just checking in
 IronDioPriest: how goes the baatttle?
trapeze: It's a yawner so far
IronDioPriest: I'm SHOCKED! SHOCKED I tell you!
trapeze: Romney: I can be liberal to get things done
Delnorin: The only hope to save the attention of the viewers.. is to switch to camera #3 and zoom in on Megyn Kelly.
Charles Oakwood: They seem to be in prevent defense
 trapeze: Attack!
 IronDioPriest: These putzes
trapeze: Stop trying to sell yourself and attack the Dingus
Charles Oakwood: Bi partisand ship - gNewt
IronDioPriest: They can't do that Trap, or Karl Rove might criticize them
Damn_Lucky: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:19 pm (ct).
 Damn_Lucky: Made it
 IronDioPriest: Hey DL
Delnorin: Did Paul just suggest turning 1/2 the country against the other 1/2 the country?
Delnorin: Welcom DL
 Charles Oakwood: Match go alright?
 trapeze: Yep
Damn_Lucky: how much did I miss
IronDioPriest: What did Paul say? I don't have it on
trapeze: Total missed opportunity on this one for all of them
 Damn_Lucky: Still undefeated
Delnorin: Ron Paul just said to get the people that want welfare to cut the military.. and get the military supporters to cut welfare.. that's how you get people to work together? Really? Sounds like playing people in the country against each other.. like you're trying to start a war.
 Charles Oakwood: ::thumbsup:
 trapeze: Paul said something confusing.
 Damn_Lucky: Oh twitts
trapeze: No doubt the Paulbots are swooning, though
IronDioPriest: Well, I gotta bail - wife is in need of assistance
IronDioPriest: Just thought I'd stop in
Delnorin: Take care IDP
Damn_Lucky: like moths to a flame
 Damn_Lucky: good night IDP
Delnorin: www.foxnews.com/debate
trapeze: I sure hope the rest of this doesn't suck like the first part has
trapeze: I hate watching a debate and find myself longing for the commercial breaks.
Delnorin: The little 'meter' on the fox news website is drooling all over Ron Paul
trapeze: The Ron Paul drones have learned to work the web polls quite well.
Delnorin: The meters are only showing a positive response for Hunstman and Ron Paul... all negative response on everyone else.
trapeze: Matt Strawn is going to be pretty embarrassed if Ron Paul wins
John Florida: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:25 pm (ct).
 Damn_Lucky: Twitts tweeting
 Charles Oakwood: meters?
 Charles Oakwood: bout time
 Damn_Lucky: no line
 trapeze: Romney blew this opportunity.
 Damn_Lucky: on line
John Florida: here we go with the bane capital defense
trapeze: Said that O'Bama doesn't understand business
trapeze: Should have said that O'Bama hates business
John Florida: with a passion
Delnorin: Meters: On foxnews.com/debate.. they have tweet meters.. if you think the person is answering the questions good, etc.. you can tweet that you approve or disapprove.. they are keeping track of the tweets and a meter shows the results for each person in the debate.
Delnorin: Welcome John
 Damn_Lucky: hi john
 Charles Oakwood: Thanks
John Florida: hey yall
 Charles Oakwood: , gNewt
 Charles Oakwood: ore gNewt
trapeze: Ginrich is totally dodging this question
trapeze: Nevermind that money I made at Freddie Mac
 Damn_Lucky: gov is good
 Charles Oakwood: It's just business
 trapeze: Paul nails this one.
trapeze: But fails to tie O'Bama to it
John Florida: Paul has this one on the money.
trapeze: One missed opportunity after another
Charles Oakwood: gNewt says it's too complicated for you to understan
trapeze: Way to go, Newt. Praise government
Damn_Lucky: Gov is not goog gNewt
Delnorin: Newt is just another progressive.
Charles Oakwood: Michele is shocked at gNewt
trapeze: Bachmann answers this well in coming out against Newt but fails to attack O'Bama
Charles Oakwood: He had is hand out to keep the scam going
John Florida: she's coming out swinging
Charles Oakwood: gNewt calls her a liar
 Damn_Lucky: Hear Hear
 Charles Oakwood: The cad
trapeze: Newt: I got paid for doing nothing
Charles Oakwood: He was an influence peddler
trapeze: She is kicking Newt's ass
Charles Oakwood: He was an ore
 Charles Oakwood: Ruh ro
trapeze: That dog won't hunt, Newt
Damn_Lucky: until I wanted more money
John Florida: this should be good CAVUTO
Charles Oakwood: Del you got Megan for 1/4 sec
Delnorin: Doh! I was up closing the office door and missed her. (pouting and stomping feet in frustration).
Damn_Lucky: But gNewt you are no Reagan
John Florida: going positive?
 Charles Oakwood: condescending pig
trapeze: Romney actually names the dollar figure of the unfunded mandates
michelleo: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:38 pm (ct).
John Florida: 62 trillion!!!!!!!!!
trapeze: And then blows it by saying that both sides of the aisle want a solution
 Damn_Lucky: Hi Michelleo
Delnorin: Welcome Michelleo
michelleo: had a hard time logging on
Charles Oakwood: it's a mixed question
John Florida:
Charles Oakwood: please return my highway funds to me
Damn_Lucky: I never voted for one but I put a butt load of them in when I nkew they would pass
Delnorin: Ron Paul should be put in charge of National Finances to whomever becomes president.
John Florida: sorry don't know what i'm doing.
 Damn_Lucky: Amen Del
trapeze: Ron Paul: Elect me because I want to be a weak president
Delnorin: Not a great president... but.. in the term that the communists understand... he'd be a great Tzar.
michelleo: Power is everything. We need someone who is willing to dismantle big government
John Florida: that Paul unnerves me
Charles Oakwood: He's going back to the like 80s on Rick
Delnorin: Amen Michelleo
 trapeze: Perry attacks!
John Florida: Perry back on topic defending Newt and took a swipe at Bachman.
 trapeze: Finally.
Charles Oakwood: Cut it in1/2 send em home and make em obey the law
michelleo: I don't like Perry at all. I can't put my finger on why. He seems to strike sour notes. But I do like his part time congress idea.
Delnorin: Yeah Perry! Now we can just make all those illegal aliens voters.. can't wait (/end sarcasm)
John Florida: His view on immigaration is a deal beaker for me.
Delnorin: Newt went the same route also.. supporting illegal aliens with amnesty
Damn_Lucky: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:43 pm (ct).
John Florida: Huntsman is like waiting for paint to dry
trapeze: Am I the only one who has no idea what Huntsman is talking about?
michelleo: Huntsman opening statement was good.
Delnorin: Both Newt and Perry are not only weak on illegal immigration.. they support illegal immigration.
 Charles Oakwood: Not quite
John Florida: He's talking a whole different thing. he's was talking about making them residents but never citizens. Unworkable will never see the light of day
Charles Oakwood: They all want to repatriate the money
John Florida: No Trap huntsman has no idea either.
Delnorin: Newt was supporting making illegal aliens residents? So.. they can just stay here and take our jobs.. but if they pay taxes then it's okay?
Damn_Lucky: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:46 pm (ct).
 trapeze: Santorum sort of attacks
trapeze: Romney gets that answer right
John Florida: Del it was a brainfart. It's nor workable .
Damn_Lucky: comp crashed??they're after me ha ha
Delnorin: John Florida: ah.. ok.
Delnorin: DL: Send one of the kids out to look for the black helicopter!
 trapeze: Romney criticizes O'Bama...finally
Delnorin: Megyn!
michelleo: quick, make a tin foil hat. That's what the bulk tinfoil from costco is for.
John Florida: yup
Delnorin: That neck.... I'm like pavolv's dog... I need a napkin.
Damn_Lucky: I sent 1 to ISU to write the program to keep them out
trapeze: Pretty easy to criticize the 9th Circuit
trapeze: Like shooting fish in a barrel
Charles Oakwood: Paul delineated this well
John Florida: close their offices and dump the 9th circuit.
Damn_Lucky: Shut up I know history and you don't
 trapeze: Oh, great...Newt praises FDR
Delnorin: He praised FDR like 30 times... over several years... a very long term belief.
Delnorin: Newt = Pro-Gressive
Charles Oakwood: Lawyers overly empowered to think they can dictate to us
michelleo: logs in on 12/15/2011 8:50 pm (ct).
John Florida: hey michelle
 michelleo: hi.
trapeze: Michelle (eventually) nails that one
Charles Oakwood: Courts were in the cafeteria until the umm 20s?
 Charles Oakwood: Yeah!
 Charles Oakwood: Original intent
Damn_Lucky: You just won one from me
 Charles Oakwood: ?
 trapeze: Paul looks confused
michelleo: Why do these debates never talk about the pending economic crisis?
Charles Oakwood: I didn't appoint liberals I nominated them -Rom
 Charles Oakwood: drill baybe drill
Damn_Lucky: Now that's the first thing he got right...Just not him
Charles Oakwood: Name that tune - that's so stupid
trapeze: Who is going to pick Scalia?
Charles Oakwood: Unaccountable legislators with robes
 Damn_Lucky: gnewt/romney
trapeze: Way to answer that one, Ron
 trapeze: Michelle doesn't pick Scalia
 trapeze: Picks everyone but Scalia
trapeze: Only Newt singled out Scalia...go figure
michelleo: Im pretty sure I heard Michelle mention scalia first
 Damn_Lucky: Romney 2nd
 Damn_Lucky: are vise versa
 trapeze: Michelle specifically omitted Scalia
 michelleo: I don't multitask well
trapeze: I would like to think that she left him out by mistake
trapeze: But they should have only picked one...picking all the conservatives is crappy
John Florida: it's a mistake because they're rushing.
Damn_Lucky: watch fox online now kinda like the comenary
John Florida: the second half should be good
John Florida: and were off
John Florida: OH NO let's wait for Iran to have the capability
 Damn_Lucky: and then kill him
John Florida: why wait?
trapeze: Paul: I'm just going to will that there is no war. Not ever.
Delnorin: Does Ron Paul hear the question? Does he think he's answering the question asked?
 michelleo: Naive crap
 Charles Oakwood: Calamity Paul
trapeze: Paul doesn't have rose colored glasses...he is blindfolded
 trapeze:
trapeze: Santorum gets it. But he has shown that before
Delnorin: Santorum rocks
michelleo: Santorum is best when he talks about things other than social conservatism
Delnorin: It doesn't matter how amazing Santorum is.. or how right he is.. the Establishment will just shrug at whatever he has to say and move on to the next question and ignore it.
trapeze: Biggest applause of the evening for that answer
John Florida: it at least show that he does have a brain
Damn_Lucky: logs in on 12/15/2011 9:09 pm (ct).
Charles Oakwood: He's a Party man. That bothers me
michelleo: Following Paul, it's not hard to shine
trapeze: Holy cow, what a setup question for Romney

Damn_Lucky: They are not a first world contry Dip $hit
trapeze: Dead enemies don't kill you
Delnorin: Ron Paul just can't get the clue that the foundation of the Muslim religion is to kill anyone that is not a muslim... they won't even deny it when you ask them... they're in fact.. .very proud of that fact.

Libertas: Target rich environment...time to focus like a laser beam!
John Florida: if they fought him as well as they fight each other I would enjoy it more
 Charles Oakwood: yeah
trapeze: Seriously...anyone think that they could vote for Ron Paul?
Libertas: Yeah, sometimes the adversarial nature takes a bigger role than it should, must be some focus group BS that says bickering pumps up ratings...

trapeze: Romney: The dog ate my homework
Libertas: Close his coffin, Iowa will bury Mittens...
Charles Oakwood: Iowa will be a surprise - for me too

 Damn_Lucky:
Charles Oakwood: Second time tonight he's called her a liar - cad
 trapeze: What a convoluted rebuttal
Libertas: gNewt has to do more than list his resume and elocution, he needs to say "I will do this___" something he struggles with mightily
Charles Oakwood: she should have backed off and let Chris axe him
Damn_Lucky: logs in on 12/15/2011 9:49 pm (ct).

Just read through this... Note to Trap: I watched the repeat late-night last night, and I could swear that Bachmann mentioned Scalia first and foremost as her favorite supreme court justice, and then listed Thomas, Roberts, and Alito as also good.

I thought this was a pretty good debate. Man, I wish Rick Perry didn't stumble so badly out of the box. He seems to be hitting a campaigning stride right now, and I think it's too late. Not that he's my dream candidate, but Lord how I wish someone besides Newt was giving Romney a run for his money.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

You may be right. I recorded it but the wife erased it as soon as it was over so I can't go back and check. I thought that they should have been held to one judge. It was stupid to name all the conservatives. I would have picked Scalia. But Thomas and Alito would have been close.

As for Perry...he's not my favorite either but his strong suit is supposed to be "retail" politicking: Stump speeches and pressing the flesh. Somehow I don't think that Newt will be as good at that stuff but I could be wrong.

My favorite is still Santorum at this point. I would say Bachmann but she really has a bad habit of saying stupid sh*t. Or rather, she doesn't know when to shut up. She says really brilliant conservative stuff and then screws it up by saying something totally outrageous (and unnecessary) in what I can only assume is an attempt to hammer her point home.

Santorum has yet to rise in the polls. Maybe he will yet do it.

In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

FOX News Channel’s GOP debate last night in Sioux City, Iowa was the most watched cable news debate so far this cycle. Overall, it comes in second to ABC’s debate in Iowa last Saturday. The debate, moderated by Bret Baier, with questions from Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Neil Cavuto, averaged 6.7 million Total Viewers and 1.9 million in the 25-54 demo. Here’s how it stacks up in our TVNewser debate ranker:

It would be more interesting if there were more age divisions, say,  every five years.

It's curious this 72% demographic is as tolerant of current political shennagins as they are.  Maybe just as the Tea Party gatherings were very orderly and disciplined their preparation for the election is being carried out with the same quite discipline.
