Land Choices - Another case in point
« on: December 15, 2011, 09:58:30 AM »

LA is pushing people off off thier remote property, refusing to issue permits unless connected to the grid etc.
This is another lesson for those who think that it would be best to find a large bit of land way, way out there.  You are easier for the Mad Max Mauraders to attack if it comes to that, but you are also an easy target for the government to pick off.  "When they came for the Jews, I wasn't a Jew, so I did nothing." is going to be the dominant theme in America for the next few years.  You will need a community. Idealy one large enough it can hold sway and power in County elections.

A number of my neighbors question why I am pulling permits- and this is why. I don't want to give them ANY pretext for coming onto my property. People ask why I am spending so much money on off-grid Batteries when I have a grid connection.  This is why.

Its game on folks.  Police in North Dakota are using preditor drones to retrieve wayward cattle , and the U.S. Military is openly arming local police and doing co-ordinated excercises with miltary personel, while other agencies, like the Park service, the  Dept of Education, etc now use armed swat teams. In some places  Miltary MPs are on patrol in civilian areas and VICE VERSA Its only a matter of time now before the announcement that local authorities command and control are being consolidated into the military - for homeland security reasons of course. Add that to the new bill allowing the Presient to detain US Citizens  suspected of terrorism without trial , and the internet piracy  bill that will allows the Fed to shut down websites at just an accusation, and all of the pieces of the police state are falling into place.

They are prepearing for massive civil unrest - and so are citizens as gun sales keep climbing....

You would think with their newfound oil wealth they'd appreciate liberty more...
