Not sure as to the orderliness of this "solution" but there is some interesting points worth considering.

And as always, them comments on this one are rich.

Gotta love the anti-corporate bent to the article as well as the comments. -- as if Government played no role in actually giving corporation the power to make themselves the only choice - all while talking about allowing choices.  Yes you can have choices, as long as you make the ones I think you should make, and don't give any money to a corporation.

Quote
The system is broken not the money. Industry cannot pay its own way. The Eurozone fails not because of the euro but because of resource waste. Industrial economies are inherently bankrupt not because they make use of paper money..We have hard currency now: every day millions of Americans drive to the pump and 'fill 'er up' exchanging their dollars for a valuable physical good on demand. Then, they take the good they have exchanged their labor/time/lives for and burn it up!
The outcome of this nonsense is underway in Europe, Japan, China, America ... a scarcity of capital.
The real problem is at the end of your driveways, get rid if it first, worry about the money later.

Yeah, its not the money thats broke, its the fact that "corporations" exist. The real problem isn't the government, its that you have the freedom enabled by a vehicle.  Obviously no one should be allowed to work with others to create a product, and we don't need fuel to power anything.  Dark Ages here we come.  What morons.

Yes we need to become more self-sufficient. Yes, our standard of living is going to drop.  But we are in this mess not because of fuel or high technology, or people working together , but rather the wanton abuse of government power in the name of social engineering and crony capitalism.  Decentralization isn't a "Solution", its a survival requirement.  A solution would involve keeping the standard of living high by allowing production by groups - without state imposed  barriers to entry by competitiors, and a sound monetary system.  Neither are likely to materialize.

Agreed.  I am pretty sure that the PTB's are incapable of realizing let alone implementing the proper actions we should be taking...at best you could expect one step forward and two steps back...

So the improbable has become the inevitable...

Prepare accordingly.

A return to the Articles of Confederation?
States entering into private treaties with each other.
California and NE Coast succumb to reality.

Priceless

You are assuming we may still have states, I have not conceded that point yet...
