There's also supposed to be a contingency of Marines at the embassy.
In Iran, Carter told them to stand down.

If the embassy was under attack and being defended by the Marines
it would have been incumbent upon him to send reinforcements.
And then, oh, I forgot, we don't do imperialism we do peace and love.

They can call it whatever they want.  As for "posting bond", that was supposedly to ensure they returned for the "trial".  Think that's going to happen?  Think the Egyptians know that?
