Oscar nominations
« on: January 24, 2012, 10:51:16 AM »
Not that I care in anyway about them. But I happen to see the list this morning.  I haven't seen one of the best pic nominees. Or any of the ones for best actor/actress.

BEST PICTURE:
The Artist

The Descendants

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

The Help

Hugo

Midnight in Paris

Moneyball

The Tree of Life

War Horse

My mom went to see The Help and my daughter saw Hugo. I saw one movie in the theater about a year ago.

Nope, haven't seen any of them. Last movie I saw was last weekend - "Underworld: Awakening", starring Kate Beckinsale as the latex-clad sexy, ass-kicking vampiress Selene. Number one at the box office, BTW.

That one gets my vote for best picture.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Bwahahaha!  Sorry; my mind's-eye saw this big, hairy bruiser man-handling you into a theater seat.  LOL.
