Ann Coulter Jumps Shark… Praises Romneycare ...
« on: February 02, 2012, 06:30:56 AM »
... After Trashing It in October.

Quote
Does anyone else long for the days when Ann Coulter was sane and conservative?
Back in October Ann Coulter trashed Romneycare.

But that was before she lost her mind.

Last week Coulter was attacking the tea party.

Today Coulter officially jumped the shark. Not only is she Mitt Romney’s biggest fan she is now praising state run health care.

This will make you want to vomit – Coulter even defends the individual mandate.

...

More… Mark Levin has a brilliant takedown of Coulter’s ridiculous arguments.

Coulter's column here:

http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2012-02-01.html

Levin's line-by-line, 30 minute rebuttal here:

http://www.therightscoop.com/mark-levins-rebuttal-of-ann-coulters-three-cheers-for-romneycare-article/

I used to love Ann Coulter; now she is dead to me.  Traitor.

Of all the spectacles surrounding this election cycle I find Coulter's odd acceptance of Romney and her rejection of conservatism in order to justify it to be among the most inexplicable.

Ya think you know somebody....
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Damn Romney whore sold her soul.  BUt she started down that road when she joined the Rovian's and attacked Tea Party candidates.  She is dead to me.

The Illuminati have her under mind control. The aliens put a chip in her head.  I have watched Ann for too many years. She knows better.

States certainly have more power than the Fed, but they also have Constitutions, and MA's was written by John Adams and was the primary model for the Federal constitution. Inalienable rights are still inalienable under a State government.  If a state wanted to mandate that no one could receive medical treatment without first proving they could pay ( via bond, insurance, or cash on hand)  they would have the power to do that. (though I would fight it tooth and nail - private hospitals and doctors should have a right to determine on their ownwhen and if they will provide service)  - but yes, States  have a right to "regulate" business, they don't have a right to force it to happen.  Just like the roads- I have to get a license and an emissions test  if I wish to use my personal vehicle on public property.  I have to get a Marriage license, and maybe a blood test, if I wish my union to be recognized by the public courts.  I am fine with that.  I can choose not to drive. I can choose to not get a marriage license.  There is no fine imposed on me by the government for refusing either service. Likewise, if (government) Hospitals had a right (or a mandate) to refuse service if I don't provide an ability to pay, then I can choose to not use their services, and must use the services of a private doctor, perhaps even in a different state or country.  I would not be punished by the state for making that choice, because I decided I was willing to pay the consequences of having to get my treatment elsewhere, just as I might decide I need to bum rides all of my life, or to not have any legal recourse if my wife leaves me.  These can be heavy and costly consequences, but at least I would be free to accept them without being punished.

The Mandate forces me into a contract without my consent, and implements a punishment  if choose to not live up to the terms of that contract. It is therefore a violation of my inalienable rights, and evil on its face.   Why Ann is willing to tow the establishment line on this is beyond me. Maybe the NWO does exist and Ann was just offered a nice Beachside mansion after the massacre of mankind.

I will not vote for Romney (or buy any more of Ann's books.) .  Period.  I am not voting for the GOP  establishmnet socialist squish  candidate because he is slightly better than the Democrat hard on commie.  They want to be the party of the squish. Let them. I  will not reward it. They want to alienate their base a second time. Go for it.    Let Obama win.  Let him own it. Or as Frank J said "America is dying a slow death, and the best we can get is promises to make it an even slower death."

Maybe choosing a faster death would be better?  The Sheep won't realize there is a problem till it affects them, and an Obama second term ensures that it will sooner rather than later. We need them awake, and America at this point can't be saved using the tools as hand ( and Romney and Newt are such absolute tools)  We need the Senate. We can block Obama SCOTUS nominees from there.  Enough control of congress and we can pass amendments, and override Obama. Hell we can impeach him.  Ignore the presidential race. Congress is all that matters.

I pretty much gave up on Ann Coulter some time ago for--reasons--and when she became Chris Christie's head cheerleader it was completely over.

And it's sad and disheartening that she and so many Conservative pundits, whose opinions I have valued , have proven themselves to be more interested in aligning themselves with the Establishment Republicans and their subsidized paycheck than being an actual Conservative.  And they're terribly insulted and angry that real Conservatives are angry with them and feel so abandoned by them.  They obviously believe that we are so stupid and naive that we need them to tell us how to think and what to believe.  A lot like their liberal peers.

My daughter never did like her...now's she's feeling justified...she had a special invitation to see Coulter at some get together at CPAC several years ago and wouldn't go.  Appparently my daughter is an excellent judge of character.

Yup. That's really the galling thing about it all. If the Tea Party movement should have shown them ANYTHING, it is that the people are attuned, paying attention, ready to take control of our own destiny, strong, opinionated, and not to be pushed around or led by the nose. They didn't get the message.

Yes, her supporting Krispie Kreme Christie was the first crack in the facade.

Townhall has a piece, and a video, of her denigrating the audience cheering Newt as "the peanut gallery".

Since GW's first term, and starting with him, it's been one disillusionment after another.

And people wonder why I'm such a cynic.

Yup. In retrospect, it's been disillusionment all along. That's just when I became aware of it. Things have NEVER been how I thought they were in regards to politics, so-called conservatives, and the GOP.

I started having misgivings about her during the whole CPAC-GOProud controversy when she was all to eager to be seen as aligned with trendy homosexuality.

Thanks for reminding me; I'd forgotten that.  And it was pre-Christie.

It's funny...

The very first thought that entered my mind upon hearing her ridiculous defense of RomneyCare was, "She is dead to me now."

So I visit this thread and find the same thought expressed by at least two others.

If I had any of her books (I don't) I would wait for a book signing and dump them in her lap...maybe tell her to pass them around at her next mental orgy with Bill Mauher and his simian guests.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.
