Why Obama will win
« on: February 03, 2012, 08:46:11 AM »
Some random thoughts on why I believe Obama's a lock.

Just saw today that unemployment is 8.3%
Stock market is way up from where it was when he took office

Ineffective opposition. None of the candidates are worth a damn.
It will be Romney. He can't inspire, has no record to show he's different than Obama.
He will be beat around as a patrician.

Between the base and the Paulites, they will either stay home or vote 3rd party.

Impending war with Iran. A war president will win.

The Tea Party is dead. I've said it before (often). It never had principles, just opposition to spending and Obamacare. Not a peep about those two issues

Buckle up. I think there's some turbulence ahead

If we had someone bold who can expose all the lies and the man behind the curtain, yeah, we'd have a chance, as it stands, the northeast liberal repub is set to capture the GOP standard and it doesn't matter if crazy 'ol Ron stays away, Willard will get smoked by the proglodyte machine, and I too am coming around to the likely idea Obama could benefit from a tiff with Iran, the only thing that can change that is if Israel refuses Obama's timetable and waits until after our election to act.

Gonna be a buttload of turbulence ahead, no doubt of that!

The metrics are artificial, but certainly enough to convince the sheep everything is "okay" again,  and I thought I could suck it up and vote for Romney, but after his recent comments, I just can't. That is really what will hand it to Obama.

Hopefully the Tea Party isn't as dead as claimed and will be able to hand us the required Senate and House seats.  Just because the media won't trumpet the Tea Party line, ( and the Establishment GOP isn't going to)  doesn't mean that same group of people isn't out there and isn't still mad as hell.  I count myself as "Tea Party" and I understand the principles  behind my opposition to the spending and Obamacare. Perhaps I an not indicative of others in the movement, however.  I think the Tea Party is waning a bit however, just because most of us have realized the hopelessness of the situation, and have instead turned to preparing accordingly. Obamacare will not be repealed via political action. It can only be repealed by the Collapse of the U.S. dollar, and that will come more speedily under Obama.   Lets get it over with.  Lets let the masses of libtard socialists starve in the resulting  famine, and then fight to take the country back with them safely in their graves.

The top of the ticket will usually drive turnout for down ticket races. No enthusiasm for the GOP presidential candidate will translate into low turnout for down-ticket republicans.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Yes.  The only thing we can do is pick good candidates and money bomb them. Or something.

Let's be clear about one thing, this disaster-in-the-making has been authored entirely by the GOP establishment. Their craven self-interest has effectively slammed the door shut on the one viable political avenue we had, and the consequences of this are going to prove tectonic.

Well, I don't know about tectonic (I was thinking larger scale  ;D ) but I agree. We had it in our hands and we blew it.

We?  What "we"?

Editorial "we".

I recognize the individual efforts that many had made to give voice to their concerns about the direction of our country, the support that they have given - both monetarily and through direct labors - to promote people we thought would respect our heritage and values. And the symbolic gesture that casting a ballot represents.

But someone or someones have come in and undermined every bit of that. Every bit of the forward momentum that was the 2010 elections has been arrested by the fecklessness of people like McConnell, Boehner, Romney, and Gingrich. We're (we - the American public) are now faced with a "Even if we win we lose" situation in that we are looking at the prospect of "leaders" that I would not let mow my lawn.

So much of this is entirely outside our direct control, so the little bit that I do have some say over I want to do my best not to waste. I feel a bit cheated when I discover that I've been ripped off.

Exactly; it's not we, it's THEM!

I don't blame you for feeling ripped off; you just got shafted pretty good.

So, yes, we are all looking at the probable results of their perfidy, damn them.

I hate sounding so defeatist but find little to be optimistic about.
What once was considered a bright spot is just more of the same.

The 80+ new congress critters were supposed to turn things around but only a (very) small handful stood for limited government.

Tea Party darling Allen West is an example of someone who became a politician.
He voted for NDAA and all those wonderful security things that make us safe but steal our liberty. Voted for spending compromises
His type is the most dangerous type.
He's popular and speaks well. Good rhetoric

Washington eats them all up

As bad as things look I do not think that Obongo is a lock to win re-election. The numbers aren't that good and are not likely to improve enough before the election.

I do think, as big a dipstick as he is, Romney can pull it off. Romney sucks, that's true. But he isn't Huntsman. Huntsman would lose because he is, in fact, Obongo Lite.

Still holding out hope that Santorum will begin to catch fire. Help me Obiwan Santorum, you are our only hope.

Colorado voting is on Tuesday and I will be voting for Santorum.

Funny. I always thought Romney was Obama lite, too. And yes, he still SUCKS!!

Heh!

"Colorado voting is on Tuesday and I will be voting for Santorum."

Same here in Minnie, our caucus night.  I'm only going to torment Romney people and those annoying hardcore PaulBots sure to be out in force.

Santorum gaining ground would be nice, I think it a longshot, but, anything could happen even if I think it won't!
