Justice Ginsburg: "I would not look to the US Constitution"
« on: February 03, 2012, 11:17:17 AM »
So....a sitting Justice on the US Supreme Court, whose sole mission is to uphold the US Constitution, advises Egyptians that in formulating a new constitution they certainly should not look to the USA's for inspiration. She prefers South Africa's or Canada's as a model, being so much more modern after all.

Quote
I would not look to the US constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary… It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recent than the US constitution — Canada has a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It dates from 1982. You would almost certainly look at the European Convention on Human Rights.

Oh yes, because the concept of natural rights certainly has a Sell By date doesn't it?  I honestly I can't take much more of this withering assault on everything that made this country what it is.  Just how does a civilization recover from having so many enemy agents within its own ranks, and at the highest levels?  I don't think it does.

Someone should begin impeachment hearings, just to place on full display her Leftist disdain for the document she is sworn to uphold.

As God is my witness, I do not wish for hatred to dwell in my heart.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I'm glad somebody posted a thread on this, I've been percolating on this all morning, and the most polite thing I can say is I hope this shriveled up commie witch croaks any minute now!

Levin should have a field day with comments like that.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

I'd rather she hang in there for now. The "devil you know", as it were. Besides, right now, she'd just be replaced with a non-shriveled-up commie witch who wouldn't likely be croaking any time soon.

Human Rights: translation: the right to enslave a minority  to produce things the ruling class think will maintain them in power and popularity with the majority.

Natural Rights: The right to not be enslaved by A-holes who believe in Human rights.

With this attitude can Ginsberg be expected to uphold her oath of office. Again, she should be removed, tried and executed for being a traitor to the Constitution and the American people.

Oh hell, Weisshaupt, it's not like she's the only one; she and Kennedy both have advocated looking to other country's laws in making their rulings.  Might as well include him in the punishment.

Trade?  Don't be stingy; we'll just give her to them.  And no thanks required.

Can we keep the piano wire though? It may need to be reused.

Ok Canada, you drive a hard bargain.......we'll give you 3 justices, half dozen congressman and one president, plus 100 million bucks......we'll even pay for their healthcare.
