"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

She used softer language than I but the point was well made.

And check out the lefty hate-filled losers at C-BS going after her in the comments...

Did you really think CBS viewers were any brighter than they appear to be, in the comments?

No, they live down to my expectations...they really have nothing new to add.  Which was why I thought Palin might jump in, but that is water under the bridge...

She would have as much prominence as anyone at a brokered convention
wouldn't she?

Not if the CountryClubbers have their way.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding a brokered convention.  If we arrive at a brokered convention the Country Club
is at a stalemate and the second tier folks, the Tea Party, the Paulinians, and other interested parties, will
have more of an opportunity than they do now to put their candidate on the ballot. We know the Paul people
are working for this and there has been speculation about what Palin is up to.
A Palin and Paul ticket would knock it out of the park.

It is contingent upon the makeup of the delegates at the national convention.  If a majority of the delegates there are infirm in their conservative bone fides, then the Ruling Class candidate(s) could emerge, and the longer balloting goes without a winner the more prone tired fed up people are to being persuaded.  A brokered convention does not guarantee a favorable outcome for conservatives.  We need more of our delegates there than theirs!

OK, I'll take it.  We sure as heck aren't going to get a conservative now and looking at
Jeb ::ptewt:: Bush, well, he didn't screw up Florida nearly as bad as Romney screwed
up Massachusetts.  And I'm still betting on Paul to discombobulate the Country Club.

If I make it that far as a delegate, it'll be Ruling Class over my dead body!
