How to ask a German for a loan
« on: February 15, 2012, 08:50:01 AM »

Quote

Most shockingly, a rightwing Greek newspaper depicts Angela Merkel, Germany’s chancellor, in a Nazi uniform above the headline “Memorandum macht frei” – an allusion to the memorandum in which Greece’s foreign creditors demand more austerity measures and to the Auschwitz slogan.

Need a German to loan you money? Call them a Nazi.

Just wait till we get to this point, and the entitled mooching class will call the preppers NAZIs as well, because that will obviously make us more inclined to share.

So stock up. Make sure you have something to share with them when the time comes!

Time before last when the Greeks were looking for a handout Merkel suggested
they sell their islands and pay off their debt themselves, they also went Nazi on
Germany then.

And yes, the Øpoopers definitely regard the Tea Party-ers, Preppers and all others
who disdain the gravy train as severe threats.

As an aside, I remember reading somewhere that the top two barter items are distilled alcohol and ammunition. Easier to trade for goods and services than gold. Not that gold is a bad idea...it isn't. But it's a heck of a lot easier to stock up on booze and bullets than bullion.

I'd have to know, or be extremely sure of, anyone to whom I'd barter ammo.  Right now, that's a tiny list of folks.

I can envision a 1/2 pint of scotch/gin/whiskey greasing the
skids or opening doors for one or maybe a straight up trade
for that necessary item.

ETA: How long can that stuff be stored?

Greece was the birthplace of Western Civilization, many thousands of years ago. That is also the last time it was relevant.

Yup.

And if trading hooch, I better be getting a good haul of swag in return!

Most booze ages well.  We had some old cheap Canadian whiskey up at the lake we found in the garage, had to be over 30 years old, went down fine!

Yup.  That seems to be my dilemma with wine storage.  *sigh*

Nazi Germany was brutal with Greece and I mean brutal. The Allies recured them eventually but then had to have it out with the communists which lost. Apparently, the socialist (communist) filed the same plan they did everywhere it wasn't popular and fed it to the people small doses at a time until they woke up and they were effing broke indebted to everyone.

Speaking of Nazi occupation and the communists left in the void after their expulsion, I read some interesting accounts that show you just the sort of mindset exists among the communists. In occupied France, particularly as the war neared its end and the inevitability of German defeat became apparent, communist cells of the French Resistance betrayed republican cells to the occupying Nazis. They deduced that they could use the Nazi enemy to eliminate their likely postwar rivals.

Leftists are always the enemy within.

Heh, the Jacobins pulled that trick over 200 years ago.  And ask Leon Trotsky how he and his supporters were embraced by their own!  Some people never learn.  I suspect many rank-and-file democrats will experience the same fate.
