So Why Is O'Bongo Tipping His Hand?

Quote
On the face of it, President Obama would appear to be shooting himself in the foot. Why would he risk losing the Catholic vote? One could, of course, argue that his aim was to excite the feminists and give them a reason to turn out in November. As a rationale, however, even this seems a bit lame. The benefit that the President proposes to provide is insubstantial. The administration’s claim to the contrary notwithstanding, the pill and other birth control devices are not free. But the expense involved is not great. Among those who are employed and have healthcare insurance, no one is hard put to come up with the paltry sum required.

This suggests that there can be only one reason why Sebelius, Pelosi, and Obama decided to proceed. They wanted to show the bishops and the Catholic laity who is boss. They wanted to make those who think contraception wrong and abortion a species of murder complicit in both.  They wanted to rub the noses of their opponents in it. They wanted to marginalize them. Humiliation was, in fact, their only aim, and malice, their motive.

O'Bongo does not believe that he needs the Catholic vote to win.

O'Bongo does believe that he can give the finger to Americans in need of less expensive energy.

O'Bongo is dismissive of the opinions and needs of a very significant number of Americans and believes that these various groups are not needed to win his re-election.

He is either a political genius who sees a path to victory over the backs of those who previously support him or he is a self absorbed  imbecile who is completely blind and tone deaf to the electorate.

If he is the former we are doomed as a nation. If he is the latter then he will go down in history as the worst single term president in American history.

In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

He's actually both but neither will preclude him from winning in November . He knows full well that the vast majority of Catholic women use birth control despite the teachings of their church . Likewise  the idea of the government mandated "freebie" is an enticement which has become , for many , too good to pass up ... loss of constitutional freedoms notwithstanding . Stymie and his Socialist/Comminist henchmen came to this "accomodation" too quickly to think that it was a spur of the moment alteration in their program . It was in their bag of tricks all along ; ready to be used when needed .

Little Stephi started it with the debate.  That was a pre-planned planted question to serve his former employer's plans.

Have I stated how little respect I have for anyone anymore who still watch these alphabet networks?

Exactly.  Can there be even the slightest shred of doubt now that there is massive collusion between "the media" and the political Left? None of this was on the radar until after that question out of left field, then suddenly the Catholic Church and others are given this mandate from His Royal Highness' mandarin, Sebelius?

Journalists, at least the prominent mainstream ones, are nothing more than agents of the Left. Hillary tried to insinuate the existence of a "vast right wing conspiracy" but it is another classic case of projection by liberals. The proclivity of the GOP to constantly shoot itself in the foot easily dispels any notion of a right wing conspiracy, but there is for certain a vast left wing conspiracy.

Don't discount the Komen/Planned Parenthood flap in this scheme either. Reports came out right as the Komen VP was about to resign that she was saying the move to defund PP was planned for a long time for non-political reasons, and that PP was informed in advance, and indicated that they understood the decision, and that there would be no retaliation. Then came the Komen decision, and Planned Parenthood's subsequent systematic demonization, thrusting contraception into the limelight.

This whole flap has been orchestrated to shift the debate to social issues, a weakness and a divisive distraction for Republicans in an election where the economy and the devastation of Hussein Obama should be front and center.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

The VLWC is alive and well and is the dominate force in so-called mainstream media.  Having said that I/m still waiting for all conservatives to treat them as hostile opponents and not someone to cozy up to...some fight them, not nearly enough though.  As long as conservatives fight with both arms tied behind their back they will continue to lose whenever they come up against this cabal.

Maybe if they grow a set they will be better to win debates, such as those suggested by IDP!

It seems our Constitution's three-branch government has been reduced to two: the theatrical and the functional.  The theatrical branch has two duties:  whipping the people into a partisan frenzy every few years, and surrendering their sovereign powers to the functional branch.  The functional branch handles the dirty work.
