What I've noticed is diesel soaring, again.  Back over $5 in Iowa.  All in the past week.

Yeah, which will have distribution cost impacts downstream...with ports practically dormant the only stuff moving will be by air (most costly), truck & rail...

And in France...strains in the socialist order...

Somebody slid another bowl of ice cream to jello-head JoeFraud and had him sign off on depleting the SPR to near empty in a futile attempt to pause the chaos he's purposely inflicted upon citizens...

I understand that Trump attempted to top off the SPR late 2019 when oil prices were so low and ChuckYouSchumer made a point of stopping him from doing that.

I recall something about that...doesn't seem sane to allow a POTUS to drain it but not fill it...if its a funding issue it's ridiculous...

Execs are in no mood to rescue a hostile regime from its self-inflicted wounds...and I cannot blame them.  The DemoCommies and gutless Cucks own this mess...they should choke from it...

Yes, it truly is this stupidly insane...

The DeomoCommies are doing this, on purpose...but only with an election looming do they fear the effects of what they are doing...take the election away...they would still be destroying everything!!!

Fuel tax increase

Gas could cost you more in 2023. NC’s fuel tax is scheduled to increase from 38.5 cents to 40.5 cents per gallon. The North Carolina Department of Revenue reports that fuel tax increase is calculated by taking into account population change and inflation. The inspection tax will remain in the same at .0025 cents per gallon. The federal gas tax is currently 18.4 cents per gallon.

Lucky you...

/

Seven states—Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, and Utah—will see gas taxes increase on January 1, either due to inflation indexing, automatic adjustments tied to the average price of fuel, or the expiration of gas tax holidays.
https://taxfoundation.org/2023-state-tax-changes/

Still, Minnestupid is not a low tax state...according to Gas Buddy average right now is about $0.05/gal higher here than NC...FWIW which isn't much...the suck will worsen for all...

And, as we all know...wherever there are DemoCommies & Cucks there is punitive thefts going on in a host of arenas...

When 2023 sees more chickens returning to roost and things really turn to sh*t...we can count on these same imbeciles to do another round of absolutely stupidity to make it all so much more worse...

IMHO,  gas taxes should be lowered AUTOMATICALLY as prices rise.   ALL of them  FED STATE and local,  no exceptions.  Sales taxes (often applied after other taxes) should be banned in the states that have them (like Illinois).   Then you may see actual effort into keeping prices reasonable.   It's not the oil industry keeping the prices high,  its government policy.   Including taxes.

All the talk is lies.

In a weird turn, one of the highest places in Cedar Rapids to buy gas is at the Sam's Club, 3.549.  My neighborhood stations, who all match the WalMart, 3.469.  The Costco down the road, 3.289.  In fact, the next closest membership station in Iowa is at $3.399.

The cheap stuff in Minnestupid is all around 3.50 range...getting away from the evil ethanol gets costly, but with small engine season approaching (slowly, still see flakes in these parts and our lake is only almost ice-free)...and we haven't got to Memorial Day yet which is the traditional start for the summer bump...

Ours has been bumping up at 10 cents a pop to $3.39/$3.49 at most stations.

Two weeks ago, I filled up at $3.09.
