But, joke as we might, why doesn't this country have big ambitions anymore?  We should be aggressively expanding into space, both in the public sphere (military) and private sphere.

The moon should be our space station and we should have been
mounting expeditions to other asteroids and planets years ago.

We could develop space artillery and use Russian
and Chinese satellites for target practice.

I think I can reason this out fairly simple by saying our young for the last four decades have been forced into believing they're stupid by the elitists in the education ministry. Stupid people make it more manageable to lead, less likely to argue with instruction. ::rockethrow::
