I say it's going to be close to 3 million.  We are in uncharted territory now.  Who doesn't think he's making a big play against the 2nd Amendment now?  And adding 2 or 3 new justices to the Supreme Court who will view it with utter disdain?

What's the saying? "If it's time to start burying them it's time to start using them."

Of course, if you buy at gun stores, there is a paper trail. Never bought at a gun show. Is there a paper trail there?

Yes there is.Here they fill out all the forms but if you have cc you take it home. But there are always people selling privately and that's up for grabs, but you don't know what you're buying. There are ways to cover your tracks if you really need to.

Pretty much all of mine have a paper trail, but they try to come get them, they're gonna have to contend with the business end.

It's also unfortunate that your boat capsized with all those rifles aboard. Talk about an unlucky turn of events.

I hate that when that happens.

I had a fire where I store my weapons. Lookie over there...see the charred remains? Those pieces of metal, what's left of my guns.

Require the same NCIS to purchase ammunition, that would be consistent.

I've been thinking about storing some cosmoline as a last resort. Anybody with experience?
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I have lots of experience cleaning guns out of cosmoline, none putting them in.  It melts at about 130 degrees, so most arsenals that are preparing firearms for long term storage simply dip them completely into liquid cosmoline.

My idea has been to get sections of PVC pipe and put screw caps on the ends, with a rubber seal.  Combined with a preservative coating like cosmoline, I would think that would provide good protection.

Of course, there's always the saying "when it's time to bury them, it's time to use them".

DIY SHTF Long Term Vacuum Sealing Moisture Protection of Weapons Cache

Use a good bearing or axel grease and pack it away as shown I would not use it on anything not made of metal.
