That bitch willfully handed a note slipped to her by an American POW to his NVA captors. We can only imagine the retaliation he and his fellows suffered as a result.
He handed it to her because he quite naturally assumed that she, as a fellow American citizen, would at least have their wellbeing as individual Americans at heart, regardless of a difference of political views. And he was wrong, sadly.
I hope that we somehow have the opportunity to repay their kind in turn.
